Hi, I’m Dipika, a part-time banker and digital entrepreneur in Perth 🇦🇺, raising a baby boy and building my digital marketing business from home. 💻 Today, I told my manager that I might need to take a leave and leave work early because my baby boy Arjun was sick. And honestly, as a mum, those moments hit hard. Your body is at work... but your heart is at home. I explained the situation and said I may need to take leave to look after my child. My manager was kind and simply said: “Of course, just keep me posted. If you need another day, go ahead.” And there was absolutely nothing wrong with what he said. But in that moment, something hit me. Even when our child is sick... we still have to ask permission to leave. We still have to update someone about our next shift. We still have to explain why our family needs us. And that’s when I realised... I don’t want my entire life to depend on a schedule someone else controls. That moment became one of the reasons I started building an online income through digital products. I’m still a working mum. I still work part-time at the bank. I still have responsibilities, bills, and real life to manage. But now I’m also building something that gives me more flexibility, more options, and more control over my time. This is not a get-rich-quick scheme. It takes learning, consistency, patience, and real effort. But having something of your own — something that doesn’t fully depend on a shift schedule — changes how you see your future.
