Read our latest blog on our website - link in bio Why Amputees Are Often More Tired Than You’d Expect People often assume that tiredness comes from being unfit, inactive, or unmotivated. For amputees, that assumption couldn’t be further from the truth.
Real amputee moment 😂 At least once a day I try to pop off my shoe with the leg that’s no longer there. The brain is a wild thing.#amputee #recoveryjourney #amputeerecovery #phantomlimb #amputeelife
Most people think the hardest part after limb loss is the limb. But the real pressure is often invisible. Planning. Energy management. Environmental scanning. Constant vigilance. That invisible load builds up. One small tool that helps many amputees is scheduling a zero-load block each week. No planning. No proving. Just decompression. Because stability isn’t just about strength. It’s about reducing pressure. Comment READY if this resonates. #amputee #limbloss #amputeelife #prostheticlife #amputeestrong

Some amputees live with a quiet background thought they rarely say out loud. What if things get worse?” What if the prosthetic becomes harder to use. What if pain increases. What if progress slips backwards. Your brain starts scanning the future trying to prepare for problems that haven’t happened. And when that loop runs long enough, it drains energy and confidence. What helps most isn’t predicting the future. It’s rebuilding stability in the present. Small daily actions. Clear routines. Simple foundations. That’s exactly why I created my free guide: From Surviving to Thriving – A Guide for Amputees to Reclaim Your Life Inside I break down simple foundations that help stabilise daily life after limb loss: • Daily mindset check-ins • The 5 pillars of wellbeing • Small actions that rebuild confidence • How to turn micro wins into real momentum Nothing extreme. Just small steps repeated consistently. If you’d like the guide, comment EBOOK and I’ll send it to you. #amputee #amputeestrong #limbloss #prostheticlife #adaptiveathlete

Most people think the hard part is learning to walk again but no one talks about the maintenance behind it. Sweat, volume changes, hygiene, backup towels in my bag at all times! It’s an essential routine just to make sure everything stays secure and comfortable. If you’re an amputee, does anyone have any sweat-management tips that have worked for you? And for everyone else what questions have you been too afraid to ask? Let’s talk about it :) #WeEmpowerPeople #Ottobock #TabooTopics
Nobody really prepares you for how weird phantom sensations can be. Tickling. Heat. Random feelings that make no sense.Recovery is physical, but it’s neurological too. Still positive. Still focused. Still coming back stronger 👊🏼#amputee #phantopain #phantomlimb #recoveryjourney #disabilityawarness

One thing I see with amputees who feel stuck… They look at another amputee who seems to be doing well and quietly think: “They’re nothing like me.” “They don’t struggle the way I do.” “They don’t have the same barriers.” So they start believing there’s something different about them, something stronger, something they don’t have. But what you’re seeing is only part of the story. The amputees who are doing well still have difficult days. Days where the prosthetic doesn’t feel right. Days where energy drops. Days where frustration builds and confidence wobbles. They still get knocked off balance. The difference isn’t that they don’t struggle. The difference is they’ve learned how to catch their thoughts before they snowball. They don’t let one bad moment spiral into something that stops them in their tracks. They pause. They steady their mind. They deliberately shift their focus back onto something that moves them forward. And another reason this misunderstanding happens is that many amputees who are doing well don’t always show their vulnerable side. They don’t always show the harder days. So from the outside it can look like they have everything under control all the time. But the truth is this: Progress after limb loss isn’t about never struggling. It’s about learning how to regain your composure, control where your mind goes, and move forward again before the spiral takes hold.
