Peppermint stick insect!!
Megacrania sp
…

What a beauty she is! This adult female Phryganistria tamdaoensis is one big stick insect, measuring 23 cm without legs and 35 cm with the front legs included!
Handling such large phasmids isn't easy, as they quickly lose their long, impractical legs, but luckily I could make some good content of this animal without incidents.
I'm really glad she was able to become adult with all 6 legs still attached to her body. Although stick insects can perfectly live without one or two of their legs, it's of course always better if they have all 6.

The marvelous, intriguing and beautiful females of the stick insect species Calvisia kneubuehleri 'Dong Nai'.
Another successful generation has matured, which means there will soon be eggs and nymphs looking for a new home. It's not the most difficult species, but you need to have cherry laurel or black cherry available as a foodplant.

A little explanation about the "Creature from hell" video. It's a stick insect that mimics a scorpion as a defense mechanism. The animal is an adult female, probably of the species Paronchestus cornutus.
The video is from the TikTok profile mesc27.
