If nothing changes, you’ll reach September with the same fried attention span you have today. And when classes start, it’ll show.
Summer is your best chance to fix it before it starts costing you grades, focus and confidence.
That’s exactly why I created this free 21 day plan to help you rebuild your attention before the new term begins👇
👉WHY YOUR PHONE WON (it’s not willpower)
Every notification is a slot machine pull. Dopamine fires on the gap between what you expect and what you get and unpredictable rewards spike it hardest. Months of that raised your baseline, so a book, slow and certain, now feels boring. Your bar moved. This plan moves it back.
👉3 phases. Don’t skip ahead.
PHASE 1️⃣(DAYS 1-7): DETOX
Let the baseline drop so normal things feel interesting again.
Day 1: delete your 2 worst apps. Not hide, delete.
Days 2-3: phone in another room, first hour awake and last before bed.
Days 4-5: one boredom rep a day, a queue, a walk, no input.
Days 6-7: greyscale your phone. Colour is a trigger.
The restlessness this week IS the detox working.
PHASE 2️⃣(DAYS 8-14): REBUILD
Train focus like a muscle, progressive overload.
Days 8-9: 15 min single task, phone gone. Stop at 15 on purpose.
Days 10-11: 25 min, one task, paper for stray thoughts.
Days 12-13: 40 min.
Day 14: One 60 min deep block.
PHASE 3️⃣(DAYS 15-21): LOCK IN
Not automatic yet, so protect it before studies hits.
Days 15-17: one fixed focus time, same time, same spot. Cues do the work.
Days 18-19: phone charges outside the bedroom. For good.
Days 20-21: replace, don’t just remove. One real analog reward.
👉The rule that saves you: missing ONE day doesn’t reset you. Just never miss twice. Perfection quits, consistency wins.
Do this in the weeks you have left and you walk into the new year with the one thing no one else built: FOCUS.

Should we rewind 10 years? 🤔
To discover the easy strategy I used to finally break my phone addiction, comment ‘phone’ below and I’ll send it to you on DM ❤️
5 steps to stopping your phone addiction:📱 ⬇️
1. Start with rules. For example, you might make a rule that 30 minutes after you wake up and 30 minutes before bed you will not use your phone. This is not super difficult to enforce, but will help you break out of the compulsive cycle of phone checking.
2. Turn off notifications from the apps you’re most addicted to. Specifically apps like TikTok or Instagram which have the endless scroll feature that sucks you in. Block notifications to prevent yourself from even touching your phone and opening those apps.
3. Make the apps you’re most addicted to harder to access. Whether this means hiding them from the Home Screen, setting time limits on them, or actually deleting them, making the most addictive apps harder to access will break the cycle of addiction.
4. Put your phone on silent mode/do not disturb any time you are doing a task that does not require it. For example, going out to eat, studying, watching a movie, or being at work are all times you do not have an excuse to be on your phone. Commit to not using your phone during these times so you can focus on what’s important.
5. Replace the dopamine from checking your phone with something else. The reason why our phones are addicting has to do with the reward cycle and dopamine release. This makes breaking a phone addiction VERY DIFFICULT and you may experience withdrawal. Make sure to find alternative rewards each time you resist your phone to positively reinforce that behavior!

From 7 Hours to 56 Minutes?!📵 Here’s How I Beat Phone Addiction 🚀
Try these 5 things today to end your addiction ⤵️
1️⃣ Turn your screen grayscale – Colors are designed to keep you hooked. Switching to black and white makes your phone way less tempting. Try it for a day and see the difference!
2️⃣ Move distracting apps off your home screen – If you see Instagram, YouTube, or TikTok every time you unlock your phone, you’ll open them out of habit. Hide them in folders or delete them if possible.
3️⃣ Set app limits & use the “delay rule” – Set daily screen time limits for addictive apps. Also, when you feel the urge to check your phone, wait 10 seconds before unlocking it. Most of the time, the urge will pass!
4️⃣ Replace scrolling with something better – Instead of reaching for your phone, keep a book, journal, or even a stress ball nearby. Your brain needs a new habit to replace the old one.
5️⃣ Turn off notifications for non-essential apps – Every ping and vibration is a distraction. Go to settings and turn off notifications for anything that isn’t urgent (social media, shopping apps, etc.).
📵 Small changes = BIG results! If I can do it, so can you. Start today and take back control of your time!

your life is not in your phone, it’s in front of your eyes 🌎🫶
although I can’t say I live exactly like this video… I definitely want to schedule in more time away from my phone, and make the effort to look up a little more often!!
it’s quite scary to think that with a screen time of just 4 hours 25 minutes per day, we will spend 65 days (TWO WHOLE MONTHS) on our phones… and my screen time is a lot more than that 🥹
so although our phones are an integral part of our lives, let’s make actually living our lives as important 🫂
complete credit to the incredible @maevafaour for starting this beautiful trend! I just had to try and recreate it myself 🥺✨
