You don’t need full frame to shoot music. Some of the best shots you’ve seen were taken on crop sensors, older bodies, or whatever the photographer could afford at the time. What actually matters is your timing, your eye, and how you use light in chaotic environments. Full frame is nice. It helps in low light, sure. But it’s not the reason a photo hits. The moment is. I’ve seen people with $5k setups miss every important shot… and people with entry-level gear capture something that feels unreal. Stop waiting to “upgrade” before you start taking this seriously. The artists don’t care what sensor you’re using. They care if you can capture the energy. If all you’ve got is a crop sensor right now, you’re already good enough to start. What do I pack as a concert photographer? I’ve been asked this many times and thought it was about time I shared. I like to pack light, this is what I use when shooting basically anything, one offs, tours, festivals. On tours or runs I also bring my Sony a7C as a back up in case I have any issue with my main camera. It saved me before during a tour!
