“Nobody chooses DO over MD.” Actually, I did. In fact, I only applied to one medical school, and it was a DO school. Both MDs and DOs are fully licensed physicians in the U.S. Both can prescribe medications, perform surgery, complete residency, and practice in every specialty. The biggest differences are that DOs receive additional training in osteopathic manipulative medicine, while MDs generally have broader international recognition and, on average, higher match rates into some of the most competitive specialties. But this video isn’t really about DO vs. MD. It’s about making decisions based on the life you actually want—not the one you think other people will be impressed by. For me, that meant staying in Knoxville, being close to my family and friends, and choosing a school whose philosophy I genuinely liked. That was the right decision for me. Your situation is different. Your goals are different. Make the decision that fits your life—not the one that looks the most impressive on paper.
Moral injury and physician burnout are real and present dangers to the public. Why aren’t we treating them as such? #ushealthcare #physician #physicians #doctor #doctors

Thin air. physicians are frustrated by the provider term because we don’t want to be considered interchangeable given the extensive training process we went through. based off the way I calculated these hours, you could change the numbers, but please don’t miss the forest for the trees. this analogy helps illustrate why physicians consider our training makes us more distinct in healthcare. , not just “a provider.” - #doctor #medicine #health #wellness #medstudent
July 1 is the day brand new doctors stop being medical students and start caring for real patients under the supervision of senior residents and attending physicians. It’s exciting, overwhelming, and honestly a little terrifying. The good news is that the system is designed to teach safely. New interns aren’t making decisions in isolation, and every experienced doctor you trust today once stood exactly where they are now. To all the new interns starting today: congratulations. You’ll never forget your first day, and before you know it, you’ll be the one teaching the next generation. What’s the biggest mistake you made on your first day at a new job? #MedicalEducation #Residency #Doctor #EmergencyMedicine
For the record: DNPs do not want to be physicians, they just want to use the “Doctor” title they’ve earned, just like everyone else with a Doctorate. Psychology, Chiropractic, Dentistry, Veterinarians, Educators, etc- no one bats an eyelash calling them “Doctor”, but the second a Nurse with a Doctorate degree uses the term “Doctor” the lobbyists are all up in arms. Fun fact: 77% of Nurse Anesthesiologists are FEMALE 75% of Physician Anesthesiologists are MALE Is this just another example of the patriarchy doing what the patriarchy does? 🤔 ✨ I wish more CRNA’s with platforms and the higher ups that are supposed to lobby for CRNA’s would do more to educate the public 🤷🏽‍♀️ Inspo: @lifebeneathscrubs #crna #anesthesia #srna #hospital #womenempowerment
As the generational difference in medicine becomes more apparent, it’s worth honestly examining what’s actually changed for physicians over the years. #healthcare #doctor #privatepractice #surgeon

You ask a room full of doctors one question: What's something you'd never let your own kids do? Let's just say... the answers did not disappoint. And that last one there might be a little TOO honest 👀 Huge shoutout to @figs for bringing together such an amazing group of physicians. Should I post Part 2? 👇 @kiahmfit @vinnypatel @drsallymanderchoi @drkater @k3vmd
Every July, social media gets filled with posts telling people to “avoid the hospital” because new interns are starting. But that leaves out a very important part. Interns are physicians. They have graduated medical school. They have spent years learning anatomy, physiology, pathology, pharmacology, diagnosis, treatment, clinical reasoning, and patient care. Are they new to residency? Yes. Are they still learning? Absolutely. But they are not random people being handed patients with no training. They are physicians working under supervision while learning how to apply a huge amount of medical knowledge in real time. That is how medical training works. New does not mean unqualified. It means they are in the next stage of becoming the physicians patients will trust for years.
🤖 AI is changing the game — but these careers are built to last. Here are 10 jobs least likely to be fully replaced by AI: 1. Surgeons — $550k+ 2. Physicians — $386k 3. Psychiatrists — $300k 4. Dentists — $180k 5. Lawyers — $150k 6. Veterinarians — $120k 7. Construction Managers — $110k 8. HR Managers — $140k 9. Nurses (RN) — $88k 10. Auditors — $82k Why do these roles stand out? They all require what AI still can’t replicate: • Hands-on precision and real-time decisions in complex situations • Deep human empathy and trust • Ethical judgment and personal accountability At SASpine, this is exactly why I love what I do. AI is already a powerful tool in spine surgery — helping with imaging, planning, and diagnostics. But when it comes to the final diagnosis, the conversation with a scared patient, or the steady hand in the operating room… that’s still human. That’s still us. The future of healthcare doesn’t replace surgeons — it needs surgeons who know how to work with technology while leading with expertise and compassion. To every aspiring surgeon or medical student: this is why medicine remains one of the most meaningful and future-proof paths. — Dr. Steven Cyr | Orthopedic Spine Surgeon | 📍Houston & San Antonio Which of these jobs surprises you the most? Why shadows don't exist in operating rooms! Modern operating room technology, hospital tech, and clinical infrastructure transform how surgeons, doctors, physicians, nurses, biomedical engineers, and surgical teams perform life-saving operations, surgeries, medical procedures, and patient treatments. High-tech operating room fixtures, specialized surgical lighting systems, overhead surgical lamps, and modern medical devices eliminate obstructive darkness, dark spots, glare, and unwanted shadows across the surgical site and incision area. When a healthcare provider moves their hands, arms, head, or surgical instruments—such as scalpels, forceps, and retractors—over the patient, standard lighting creates severe obstructions that impair visibility and focus. Cutting-edge biomedical engineering, smart health tech innovations, and multi-angle LED light arrays project overlapping, high-intensity, color-correct, shadowless light beams from multiple converging angles to ensure continuous, uninterrupted illumination. Integrating advanced shadowless illumination technology into healthcare infrastructure, hospital equipment, clinical technology, and facility design delivers exceptional clarity, precision, visual accuracy, and patient safety during complex surgical operations, minimally invasive procedures, outpatient procedures, and medical examinations. This synergy of medical technology, hospital innovation, biomedical science, health tech, optical engineering, and surgical tech guarantees that the operative field and sterile zone remain bright, clear, cool-burning, and perfectly visible. Healthcare professionals and tech enthusiasts can connect with Ignite Technology to explore breakthroughs in healthcare tech, hospital solutions, medical equipment, surgical innovations, clinical hardware, and futuristic technology elevating modern medicine, patient care, and doctor care.
