Safety isn't just about the absence of accidents—it’s about the presence of a plan. On February 26, 2026, this Diamond DA42 Twin Star (N68MJ) faced a pilot’s nightmare: a landing gear malfunction that prevented the right main gear from extending.
After circling for nearly two hours to troubleshoot and burn fuel, the pilot performed a flawless emergency "belly landing" at Pensacola International Airport (PNS). To minimize the risk of fire and save the engines, the pilot cut power to both Austro/Thielert engines just seconds before touchdown—a standard but high-pressure move for multi-engine emergencies.
Identifiable in the footage are the ARFF (Airport Rescue and Firefighting) crews arriving immediately. Both pilots walked away safely, and despite the sparks, the airport remained operational. This is a testament to the rigorous training pilots undergo at schools like Sky Warrior in Pensacola.

TOGA (Takeoff / Go Around) 🚀
