Just mixing in one of my favourite house records called Feel Alright by Troy Brown. It was released on Aquarius Recordings which was a label from Toronto in the 90s. I bought this on vinyl at Play De Record when it was on Yonge St right by the Eaton Centre. #housemusic #techhousemusic #technomusic #djtransition #pioneerdj #opusquad

Honoured to be featured in Drop the Needle (B-Side) — a new follow-up documentary continuing the legacy of Eugene Tam and the iconic @PlayDeRecord If you know, you know. This store helped shape music culture in #Toronto and beyond. I’m proud that @MyDopeTee was once again trusted to produce the official merch for this powerful project — and even prouder to be featured in it alongside some real voices in the culture 🙏🇨🇦🔥 Eugene has been more than a legend to me — he’s a client, a supporter, and someone who’s been quietly moving the needle for decades. From the original @Netflix-featured doc to now, this journey means a lot. This is part of my story — from being homeless in this city to building businesses like @MyDopeTee and @StickersMadeEZ that now collaborate with the very legends I looked up to. Big love to @director_rob_freeman @neil.acharya and their crew for making space for these stories to be told right. The B-Side drops May 1st on DVD/Blu-Ray at select shops like Play De Record, Cosmos Records, Dr. Disc, and more. This moment matters. Watch the trailer. Tap in!

For my peeps in TO/GTA The latest 7” vinyl from Big Jacks & @angelaapigo featuring our debut single Higher b/w Chose (Jake One Remix), is now available locally at @playderecord. They’re the only shop in the city that has it! For my international peeps, the standard black vinyl is sold out on @snackalotrecords bandcamp but there’s still a few copies of the limited edition pressings on blue or green vinyl. If you’re local hit up Play De Record and if you’re out of town hit up the @snackalotrecords bandcamp to cop yours Thanks for your continued support 🙏🏿❤️

My favourite documentary of 2024 has finally come to DVD/Blu-Ray. An incredible documentary on the legendary Toronto record store Play De Record. I had the pleasure of seeing this in theatres and was instantly brought back to my late teens. My brother lived right off of Yonge Street in the early 00s and whenever I would visit him from Montreal I’d do my collecting trek at Play De Record, Traxx Records, Sam The Record Man and wherever else I could find. I didn’t know then the cultural significance but I can say I got to find some great gems back in the day. So happy my local Ottawa spot @therecordcentre got this one in. Can’t wait to check out the B-Side bonus doc! @playderecord @canterburycresfilmworks #playderecord #documentary #hiphop #canadianhiphop #torontohiphop #hiphophistory #hiphopdocumentary #hiphopmovie #hiphopfilm #dvd #bluray #toronto #yongestreet #samtherecordman
