omggg just go to bed already! in my sophomore (or junior???) yea of highschool, I took a playwriting class. every class, we began by writing scenes of dialogue. just dialogue. no stage directions, no prose-y workarounds. believe me — I tried to write prose. but my wonderful teacher forced me to abide by her rules. ever since then, I’ve planned every single writing project of mine through dialogue. I outline scenes, stories, entire novels in dialogue that, for me, shape the narrative. a friend of mine wanted to know how I do it, so I did my best to narrow it down in this video! anywaysssss I hope you have a wonderful morning, afternoon, noon, night, galaxy, whatever! xoxo, wwow #recommendations #bookstagram #wishingwellofwriting #writing

🎙️How to Playwright🎙️launches today! This is a podcast (link in bio) for any theatre lover curious about exploring, celebrating and creating new plays and musicals. It’s a continuation of the playwriting sessions I started during the pandemic (you can still watch those on facebook) but this will go deeper into process, strategy, purpose and pattern-breaking. I’ll talk dramatic structure, creativity, career, inspiration, history, community, activism and business. I’ll talk a lot about the whys and hows of theatre, as well as take you with me to workshops, readings, rehearsals and premieres to give a real sense of how the plays and musicals get made. The launch episode - “Prologue: Write or Wright?” - is out now on Apple Podcasts (follow and rate if you fancy!) and I’ll have more episodes (all free) next week. I hope this can be a place to talk through anything of interest about theatre making, so feel free to ask a question or propose a subject for a future episode here. Fabulous original intro music by the ever brilliant Joriah Kwamé @joriahkwame (thank you Joriah!) 🎙️
We have a college playwriting class to thank for ‘Good Will Hunting.’ Revisit Matt Damon and Ben Affleck’s joint career timeline interview at the link in bio.
