Stoked when @PolarPro asked if I wanted to take their new CINEGOLD to the Galápagos — I knew it would shine, but I didn’t expect it to turn equatorial light, salt haze, and golden hour into straight-up magic. 🌋✨ I wasn’t sure how the 1/2 mist would behave at first, but the way it blooms highlights and warms the whole frame? It’s like shooting through a dream. That subtle gold dust in the glass? It’s real — and it changes everything. These are a few environmental portraits I shot on the boat, using those golden shafts of light as the backdrop. The whole shoot felt like a time warp — nostalgic, rich, and surreal. Curious to hear what you think about the feel of these frames. And how does it feel to show someone else for the first time? ✈️ We followed the BAS Air Unit team as they prepared to fly across the world to the frozen continent. As Spring arrives in Antarctica, it’s time for a new season of science to begin. The Twin Otter aircraft begin their journey in Calgary, Canada, where our fleet of small red planes have been getting some care and maintenance. These aircraft are an essential tool for our scientific work in Antarctica - they are how our teams arrive in Antarctica, and how equipment, vehicles, tents and supplies, get to remote field sites across the continent. Olly explains how to answer awkward questions in Panama, Vicky reflects on the special experience of the second seat, and Jeremie gets ready for his first season. Lovely long lens alignment from my office window in Bethnal Green to the BT Tower which is about 5 kilometres as the crow flies. Make sure to use a proper ND filter for shots like this as you will very easily cook your sensor. I've been using @polarpro filters for as long as I remember. Not an ad, they're just good filters with good people behind them. #timelapse #p1000
