When you decide to share on social media, you also accept a little bit of criticism. It is part of the game. I’m mostly okay with it, and to be honest I don’t receive that many negative comments. Interestingly, I see far more of them on Facebook than on Instagram. I still don’t quite know why.
This tool is called a 7 star plum blossom hammer. It has been used for centuries in traditional Chinese medicine. By gently tapping the scalp, it stimulates circulation and helps support stronger hair.
As I move into pre menopause, I wanted my hair to be not only silver but strong. It seems to be working.
I also love hearing from so many of you who share that you are noticing the same thing. Thicker, fuller hair after introducing this simple technique.
If you feel like trying it too, comment BLOSSOM below and I will send the link straight to your inbox. 📥
“Listen and respect your body as you flow” I always start my classes with that phrase…
It seems so simple and yet so many of us are so disconnected to our bodies that we need all forms of gadgets to let us know when we should walk, move, eat, drink, sleep…etc.
It seams that the more we discover ways to connect, the more we disconnect to what our body really needs 💞
Listening to my body as it changes through all of the pre menopausal symptoms has not been easy.
I’ve needed lots of patience and I continuously have to tweak my habits just a little bit to maintain my health.
The latest has been a foot injury, which I couldn’t explain- it’s been almost 4 weeks of hobbling through life- has it stopped me? No, but it’s humbled me and made me slow down some.
Since our bodies start to lose estrogen in pre menopause/menopause, collagen production slows down which reduces elasticity which can lead to higher risk of sprains and slower healing time after injury.
I guess I can’t just walk around all summer in my $2 flip flops anymore 🤪 my almost 50 year old body needs support, patience and lots of tlc 💖
Learning to listen to our body is key and patience, lots and lots of patience 🤪💖🙏🏽

What foods should you eat to help ease menopause symptoms?
The science on this is still growing and at @zoe we're doing lots of research to find out exactly what we can do!
From the evidence we already have, it’s clear that certain foods, like leafy greens, seeds and soy products can really help when eaten regularly. I’d also advise finding new ways to introduce legumes to your diet and high fibre snacks like hummus.
One of the reasons we think these foods help is by supporting gut health. The gut microbiome significantly shifts in its composition from pre menopause to post menopause so supporting a healthy gut microbiome composition can help to prevent increased risk of heart disease and the visceral fat often deposited in menopause.
Weight gain is a common symptom of menopause so fibre rich, nutrient packed meals are really important. Leafy greens are high in fibre and folate and help us to feel satiated after meals. Soy isoflavones are associated with a reduced risk of suffering with severe menopausal symptoms and can be found in soy foods such as edamame, tofu and soy milk.
These foods can help to prevent symptom severity; reduce the number of symptoms you’re experiencing; and make you feel better as you go through the perimenopause and menopause transition.
I speak about this topic in more detail in my first book, Recipes for a Better Menopause, and would love to answer any questions you have in the comments section.

As we age, hormonal changes can significantly affect where body fat is distributed, and this differs between men and women.
For women, the decline in estrogen is a key factor. Estrogen helps regulate body weight and fat distribution, and its reduction can lead to increased abdominal fat. Pre menopause, women tend to store fat in the hips and thighs (pear-shaped distribution).
Post menopause, there’s a shift towards storing more fat in the abdominal area (apple-shaped distribution). This change is not just cosmetic; abdominal fat is associated with a higher risk of heart disease, diabetes, and metabolic syndrome.
In men, the gradual decrease in testosterone levels can also lead to changes in fat distribution. Testosterone plays a role in regulating fat distribution and muscle strength.
As testosterone levels decrease, men might notice an increase in abdominal fat and a decrease in muscle mass. This change in body composition can affect overall health, as increased abdominal fat is linked to similar health risks as in women.
Both men and women may also experience changes in metabolism due to hormonal shifts, which can contribute to weight gain. Additionally, aging is often associated with reduced physical activity and changes in dietary habits, which can further influence body fat and its distribution.

If there’s one thing I wish more women understood, it’s this:
Your happiness is not ❌ a certain weight.
It’s not in a number on the scales.
It’s not in shrinking yourself to an old you - pre babies, pre menopause, your 20 year old self
And it’s not in chasing the next numerical milestone thinking then you’ll feel better then.
Because a number cannot give you what you’re actually looking for.
But feeling good in yourself can.
Having more energy can.
Feeling stronger can.
Feeling more confident in your own skin can.
That’s the shift #mindset
Stop asking:
“What do I need to weigh to be happy?”
And start asking:
“How do I want to feel?”
Because when your goal becomes feeling better not just weighing less …. your choices start coming from self-care & respect 🫡 not self punishment or viewing things as a chore
And trust me that changes everything 💫

Menopause/Pre menopause explained in short ❤️
50-70% of women gain unwanted weight in menopause…
Hi 👋🏼 I’m Adele Johnston - The Menopause Coach & Educator here to tell it as it is from a true evidence based perspective! Hit follow for more ‘real and proper’ menopause guidance.
Here’s why this might be happening to you:
1. Your estrogen (estradiol) levels are decreasing
2. As a result your muscle mass may be decreasing
3. If this is happening, this may mean a change to your metabolic function and could mean a reduction to your metabolism (the more muscle we have the more energy we use - aka calories)
4. You may not be moving as much due to fatigue, soreness and feeling emotionally drained
5. You may have altered your eating habits as a result
6. You may be experiencing disrupted sleep
7. All of this (plus much more) can directly equal unwanted weight gain and the strategies you used pre menopause just aren’t helping …
BUT there is a simple formula that I’ve developed over the last 10 years inside the women’s health space to help you when this starts happening
Inside my Reclamation Formula™️ you have the 3,2,1 approach to menopause weight loss and I’m going to share the first step
STEP 1. Eat 3 meals today that prioritise protein foods. Low protein intake will result in cravings for confectionary and/or simple carbohydrates
Start here and once mastered message me for the 2 and 1 elements of this simple and proven menopause weight loss method!
Follow along for more, I want you to succeed ♥️
