Protective gear is not about control or punishment. It’s about safety for the child and the caregiver. When I know a client may become aggressive as demands increase, I prepare before the crisis happens. Because during escalation, it’s almost impossible to safely protect yourself. When aggression no longer works, meaning it doesn’t get a reaction and doesn’t hurt anyone, it often loses its power. That’s when we can finally focus on what matters most: ✨ teaching regulation ✨ teaching communication ✨ building new skills Protective gear is not the end goal.
