🤖 Advanced Robotics in TY Tech! 🐾 🐶 Our Transition Year students have started exploring advanced robotics in Technology class. Today they worked with the XLO Robotic Dog, learning how to wire the components and write code to control its movements. Students successfully programmed the robot to give the paw and perform a little dance, demonstrating both their coding skills and understanding of robotics systems.

Elementary students from across the district recently brought their best to the VEX Robotics State Competition, hosted at Syracuse High School. With 32 teams from 15 schools competing, the day was full of creativity, collaboration and problem-solving in action. From coding and strategy to cheering on teammates, these students showed that robotics is about more than machines—it’s about teamwork, leadership and learning together. Several teams earned top honors, with multiple groups qualifying for the VEX Robotics World Championship. Congratulations teams!

HOW COOL: To foster the next generation of innovators, the Philadelphia Robotics Coalition gathered young students at Thomas Jefferson University . Kids presented their own robotic creations, with a focus on building communication skills for their futures.

Another exciting day at the 2026 Southern California VIQRC Regional Championship as middle school teams took on new challenges with skill, focus, and teamwork. A special highlight was the appearance of a large humanoid robot, a fun surprise that inspired and excited all the participants. From intense matches to collaborative problem-solving, students demonstrated advanced robotics skills and a strong competitive spirit throughout the day. RCSD elementary students competed in their first VEX GO Robotics Competition, showcasing teamwork, problem-solving, and collaboration. What an exciting opportunity for our young innovators to design, build, and think like engineers! #ReachingSuccessTogether

Check out our Rossford High School Robotics Class most recent project. They built a robot from scratch to direct a soccer ball through a drill and then made improvements before competing in a soccer game with the robot. This project involved design, building, testing and iterating the robot that was used with a manual controller. The next step for our Robotics Class this spring will be coding the robot to do these functions autonomously (without manual control). See the video for more.

Horace Greeley High School’s robotics team, @orbotics10152, delivered a standout performance this past weekend at the FIRST® Robotics Hudson Valley Regional held at Rockland Community College. In only their second year competing, they secured a record of 6-4 and finished ranked 16th out of 48 teams from New York, Hawaii, Chinese Taipei, the Dominican Republic, and Turkey.
