It started with a phone call no parent ever wants to receive.
Their son’s voice was trembling as he tried to explain that something had gone terribly wrong and his sister was in critical condition. “Please come fast,” he said — and that was enough to send their world spinning.
The drive felt endless. Every red light, every second, filled with silent prayers and desperate hope that they would make it in time.

Some friendships survive everything.
