This is the kind of Chinese medicine style period tea I reach for when my cycle leaves me feeling cold, bloated, weak, heavy, low energy, and washed out. Not every period is the same, and in TCM, some periods look more like depletion and cold than just cramps.
This blend features red dates, goji berries, dried orange peel, astragalus, and gorgon fruit. In a Traditional Chinese Medicine framework, that kind of combination is often used to warm, support digestion, build qi, and nourish the body when menstruation hits your energy hard.
So if you’ve been searching for Chinese medicine for periods, TCM period tea, tea for bloating on period, period fatigue tea, warming tea for menstrual cramps, or what to drink on your period in Chinese medicine, this is the kind of direction people look at when the body feels more drained than strong.
This is not personal medical advice, just a look at how traditional systems support women differently depending on the pattern. Save this if you want more TCM for women, period support, and warming remedies.

I might turn to Chinese at this point 🤷🏻♀️ I’m literally trying all TCM and I’m loving it.
This simple tea with apple, jujube, ginger, and goji berries is one of my favorite nighttime drinks when I want something warm, nourishing, and naturally sweet.
Here’s why this combination works so well:
🍎 Boiled apple – gentle on digestion and rich in pectin, a fiber that supports gut health and balanced blood sugar, which can help support clearer skin.
🌙Jujube – traditionally used in teas to help the body relax and support restorative sleep.
🔥 Ginger – supports digestion, circulation, and is known to help ease period cramps.
✨ Goji berries – packed with antioxidants that help support skin health and overall wellness.
❤️ Save this for the next time you want a cozy nighttime drink. ☕

As a TCM doctor, this is one of the recipes I make every time my period is about to start. 🍎
It’s a very simple steamed apple bowl with jujube, goji, ginger, walnuts and black sugar.
Only a few ingredients, but in Traditional Chinese Medicine they work beautifully together before menstruation.
In TCM, the days leading up to your period are all about supporting blood, warmth and circulation.
When blood is well nourished and able to move smoothly, the body tends to experience fewer cramps, less stagnation and a more comfortable cycle.
Each ingredient plays a role.
•Jujube dates are famous for nourishing blood and supporting the spleen and stomach, which help the body produce energy and blood.
•Goji berries support liver blood and kidney energy, two systems closely connected to hormones and the menstrual cycle.
•Ginger warms the body and helps move circulation, especially helpful if cramps tend to start before the bleed, which in TCM can indicate blood stagnation.
•Walnuts nourish the kidneys and deeper energy reserves of the body.
•Apple gently supports fluids and digestion, making the whole dish easy to absorb.
•Black sugar is traditionally used during menstruation because it warms the body and supports blood circulation.
When you steam everything together, the apple releases a naturally sweet liquid that combines with the dates and sugar into a warm, nourishing broth.
Make sure you drink that too. It’s one of the best parts.
Simple, warming, and exactly the kind of food the body tends to benefit from before menstruation.
Disclaimer: If you have any health conditions, are pregnant, breastfeeding, taking medication, or unsure if this pattern applies to you, check in with a qualified TCM practitioner before using regularly.
