Redbone’s “Come and Get Your Love” (1974) is a defining moment in the Wall of Sound era of R&B and rock. An interesting fact is that the 1998 mention often refers to a period of renewed interest in the band, including their induction into the Native American Music Association Hall of Fame that year. By 1998, the band’s lineup had changed, and different versions of the song began to circulate in pop culture. However, the 1974 original remains the gold standard because of the chemistry between the Vegas brothers and Tony Bellamy. The debate persists: is the song a vocal masterpiece by Lolly, or a guitar-driven anthem by Tony? Keywords: Redbone, Come and Get Your Love, Lolly Vegas, Tony Bellamy, Pat Vegas, Music History, 1974 Hits, Native American Rock, 1998 Hall of Fame. #Redbone #ComeAndGetYourLove #MusicHistory #LollyVegas #TonyBellamy

Redbone’s performance of “Come and Get Your Love” is one of those timeless moments where a band steps onstage and instantly lifts the entire room. The groove is tight, the vocals glide with that warm 70s tone, and every musician feels locked into a rhythm that defined an era of feel‑good funk. It’s the kind of performance that reminds you how powerful a simple, perfectly executed groove can be — nothing flashy, just musicians completely in sync and owning their sound. Redbone, a Native American rock band, formed in the late 1960s. Redbone was a Native American rock band formed in the late 1960s by brothers Pat and Lolly Vegas, who shared Yaqui, Shoshone, and Mexican roots. The group became known for fusing rock, funk, and soul with Native American musical and visual elements. At a time when Indigenous artists were rarely visible in mainstream music, Redbone distinguished themselves by proudly showcasing their heritage through their sound, fashion, and dynamic stage presence. Their music featured driving rhythms, memorable guitar lines, and themes that often carried social awareness. The band found widespread success with hits such as “Come and Get Your Love,” their most iconic song, which has remained a pop culture staple for decades through films, advertisements, and other media. Redbone also used their music to highlight Native American history and struggles, most notably in “We Were All Wounded at Wounded Knee.” Through their distinctive style and cultural significance, Redbone is remembered as a trailblazing band that helped pave the way for greater representation and diversity in rock music. Native American artists made significant contributions to rock music, with Redbone being a notable example of this impact. By blending traditional elements with rock, funk, and soul, Redbone created a unique sound that showcased their heritage and paved the way for future generations of Indigenous musicians. #music #native #history #reels #redbone
