Behind the headlines and hostility, every single person seeking safety from war, abuse and torture is a human being just like you. #RefugeeWeek reminds us to choose courage, compassion and solidarity. #RefugeesWelcome
On World Refugee Day, I’m supporting #FirstThingsFirst and the work of @thesocialoutfit I’ve been a fan of their incredible clothes and an even bigger supporter of the story and the women behind them. They create first jobs for migrant and refugee women through their paid retail and sewing training programs. #firstthingsfirst2026 #thesocialoutfit #refugeeweek
"Our communities have the power to bring people together and bridge divides." As we mark #RefugeeWeek, the Rt Rev Dr Guli Francis-Dehqani, the Bishop of Chelmsford, shares how our faith and acts of kindness can make a big difference to the lives of people in our communities. #chelmsdiolife #church #communities
“I think that your parents always shape you. Philip Larkin said they f*** you up, whatever. My parents didn’t f*** me up. They provided an incredibly secure and loving home for my brother and I.” Hear from David Miliband, President of the International Rescue Committee (@rescueorg) and former UK Foreign Secretary, as he shares how his parents came to the UK as Jewish refugees fleeing Nazi persecution – his dad from Belgium and his mum from Poland – and reflects on how stories like theirs have always been part of British history. This year, we are proud to partner with @hayfestival to bring you the personal migration stories of some of this year’s incredible speakers. ✨ This is the latest in a week-long series. Follow @migrationmuseumuk and keep an eye on our feed as we share more stories throughout the week! #CultureAndBelonging #Identity #RefugeeWeek #Refugeestories #Miliband
At a time when some voices are telling Australians to fear difference, I think it's important to remember who we are. Refugees haven't weakened Australia. They've helped build it. The Australia I believe in is confident enough to welcome people, fair enough to give them a chance and strong enough to know that diversity is one of our greatest strengths. #refugeeweek @metro_assist @refugee_council

Floating Together is now on display at @southbankcentre. A new public art co-commission created by Palestinian artist @malakmattar in collaboration with young people from Ukraine and Greece, made possible by the funding from Creative Visions, this striking public artwork reflects on courage, solidarity and the power of community. Inspired by Malak’s memories of childhood by the sea in Gaza, the installation reimagines swimming floats as symbols of both joy and displacement, carrying stories of belonging, courage and hope. The patterns featured throughout the work incorporate drawings and ideas developed with young people, celebrating family, dreams, love and unity across borders. Presented by @counterpointsarts @chooselove, @southbankcentre, and @creativevisionsfoundation, Floating Together can be experienced on the Riverside Terrace from 24 June to 21 September 2026. #Courage #RefugeeWeek #UniqueandUnited
This Refugee Week, I'm encouraging us to be courageous in offering hospitality and kindness, to offer a space where we can receive from as well as share with those alongside us in our land, often in great need. Watch my #RefugeeWeek message of support, recorded for @ctbimedia.
