Majid Al Futtaim malls saw a brief dip in foot traffic at the onset of the Middle East war, but quickly rebounded, with some locations outperforming last year.
CEO Ahmed Galal Ismail told CNBC the group delivered record full-year earnings, with net profit surging 41%, driven by strong performance in malls and real estate.
He highlighted supply chain resilience as a key strength, with shelves remaining well-stocked due to strategic reserves and localized sourcing — including 50% of fresh vegetables from the UAE/GCC, 80% of dairy, and 100% of fresh chicken.
Despite ongoing geopolitical risks, the company remains well-positioned.

RETAIL RESILIANCE
We’re nearly five weeks into the conflict – and certain sectors of the UAE economy are slowing.
But not all - surprisingly parts of the UAE’s retail landscape are showing resilience.
Particularly community-focused destinations – footfall is more local, more consistent… and less reliant on international visitors.

Majid Al Futtaim has launched a new initiative to support UAE small businesses, opening up its malls, cinemas and retail ecosystem to homegrown brands in partnership with Dubai SME.
The programme, launched through Ma’an, comes at a time described as “challenging” for businesses across the region, and aims to give entrepreneurs direct access to millions of consumers across the UAE.
The initiative reflects a broader commitment to supporting local businesses that contribute to the UAE’s economic and social fabric.
The company said: “The UAE was founded on the belief that when you create the right conditions, people will build. At the heart of that belief are the homegrown businesses, makers, and entrepreneurs who give our communities their character, energy, and soul.”
It added: “At a challenging moment for businesses across the region, we asked ourselves what it truly means to show up for them.”#UAE #DubaiBusiness #UAENews #MajidAlFuttaim #DubaiMalls #Entrepreneurs #StartupUAE #DubaiEconomy #BusinessUAE #RetailNews
Life and business in the UAE continue as normal. The country remains stable, with companies, banks, and government authorities fully operational.
Cross-border M&A is not only about regulation, but it is also about understanding value across different business cultures.
Our Managing Partner & CEO, Mohamed Abu El-Makarem, explains
In the UAE, the regulatory system is fast, efficient, and built to facilitate deals.
But one of the biggest challenges remains valuation:
How do you assess a business when the cash flow looks strong, but the balance sheet tells a different story?
That gap between speed of execution and depth of valuation is where real deal understanding begins.
