#Revpit
Just hit submit on my @reviseresub application.
I’m so thankful for this opportunity. It’s been a few weeks since I’ve written anything, and working towards this goal helped me get back in my writer’s chair. ✍️

Here’s my publishing journey so far.
Yes, I’m an avid reader & I love plants – but did you also know I write in my spare time? I’ve been querying for over a year (for non-writer people, that means you’re looking for agent representation).
In 2023, I was very honoured as my adult novel got shortlisted for the @futureworldsprize which is a prize for Science Fiction & Fantasy Writers of Colour. This year I was longlisted for the @writementor Novel & Picture Book Awards & shortlisted again for #RevPit - an editorial contest. I’m still seeking that elusive representation for my fantasy novel. Competition is tough but I’m ever hopeful 🤞🏽
As a result of my 2023 shortlisting, publisher @buster_books contracted me to write for their popular children’s book series - The Magical Unicorn Society. And more news coming soon – but I’m working on another book for them about one of my favourite things – dragons! 🐉
Anyway 😅 that’s enough rambling from me – but thought it was good to do a re-introduction. Carry on!

Take a sneak peek at the opening pages of Hazel Davies’s Good Goodbye 🎉☕️✨Thanks to @nicolefrailedits and @reviseresub 25 for the opportunity to participate in the showcase.
Sharing (even just a few pages) of my novel after spending so much time (YEARS) writing on my own feels sureal. 🥹🥳 Thanks for reading!

I wasn’t able to write a many days as I would have liked, but I am telling myself what I would tell a friend: “Life happens. Just keep going.”
My Writing Goal was never to write every day, for exactly this reason, and therefore, taking the time today to look back on what I accomplished this month makes me feel good about my dream of traditional publication.
How are you doing with your writing goals?

✨ICYMI: The #RevPit Submission Window is Open!! ✨
I shared previously that I'm a RevPit editor this year, and I'm super excited about that. We've completed the Meet the Editor event, and there's been some fun games over on Reddit, but now it's time to get serious, because the submission window is open!
There are TWELVE grand-prize winners this year. 😲 And what is that grand prize?
EIGHT weeks of editing, at no charge, with the author's selected editor.🤩
Check out @reviseresub and ReviseResub.com for more information about the contest, including how to submit, the calendar of events, my bio and more information about my fellow editors, all of our Manuscript Wish Lists, and testimonials from past participants and winners.
Links in bio and Stories.
Share this post with writers who may be interested in entering, please!✌️Remember: community over competition. 🫶
QOTD: Authors, have you ever entered a writing/book contest? OR Any fun plans for St. Patrick's Day?
