Residents of Punawale have long been concerned about road development in Pune. Recently, road widening work has been rapidly initiated, and drainage and sewer pipelines are also in progress. The approximately two-kilometer-long road on the western side of the underpass has been widened to 30 meters (approximately 100 feet), which is expected to improve traffic flow. However, on the eastern side of the underpass, which leads to the Ravet BRTS, the road width is only 30 meters (approximately 61 feet) as per the DP plan. This disparity could become a major cause of traffic congestion in the future. With a wide road on one side and limited width on the other, a bottleneck is inevitable.
