Coco Chanel’s villa, LA PAUSA(not open for public visit) stands tall on the hills of this quaint French Riviera town overlooking the glamorous Monaco and Mediterranean. The old village of Roquebrune has a historic castle(definitely recommend touring the castle for history and stunning panoramic views - 5€ entry fee) and the village is also home to a 2000 yr old olive tree!

Combine a day trip to Roquebrune-cap-martin and Monaco. The old village of Roquebrune can be explored by foot in 1-2 hrs. Head towards the church and explore the little streets.
🍝Don’t forget to stop at La Grotte & l’Olivier, a unique cave restaurant with great vibes(especially in the evening, there is live music at times) and excellent food right at the center square! We go here from time to time for a relaxing early dinner in summer!
We like to think of Roquebrune as “little Menton”; architecture & colours have a little Italian touch similar to the buildings in Menton; the iconic French Riviera town most will recognise easily!

Beyond the well-known gems like Èze and Saint-Paul-de-Vence, there are lesser-known villages that are every bit as charming—and blissfully free of crowds. Here are a few of my favorites:
Roquebrune-Cap-Martin: Tucked next to Monaco, this town feels like a hidden secret. When I visited, it was almost completely empty. The views overlooking Monaco are nothing short of breathtaking—definitely worth the detour.
La Turbie: Perched so high above the sea, it often feels like you’re floating above the clouds. On a clear day, the panorama is surreal—you can see France, Italy, and Monaco all in one sweeping gaze.
Mougins: Picasso chose to spend his final years here, and once you walk its streets, you’ll understand why. Mougins is pure perfection—peaceful, picturesque, and every bit as beautiful as its more famous neighbors, just without the crowds.
