1. I sometimes feel guilty posting about India 🇮🇳 , because people think it’s about getting views. But in reality It’s just my way of adapting. Living here is still hard. It’s so different from my past life and I still feel uncomfortable when people stare at me in public.🙂 2. I still have no idea how to wear a sari even though several people have tried to teach me. 3. 7 years I spent in China 🇨🇳 were both the best and the hardest of my life. I arrived there as a kid at 18 with a suitcase, no friends, and a heart full of questions. For the first two years, I cried more than I smiled, but I grew more than I ever imagined. 4. Because of studying abroad and then straight moving to India I wasn’t able to see my parents🏠 for almost 6 years. 5. I miss Russian food and love Russian salads drowning in mayo. Honestly I could probably eat anything if it had enough mayo on it. 6. I wrote in a school essay when I was 11 that I’d be a designer. I went to art school back home, studied design in uni in China and even did commission drawings for a while. And I still love to draw but I don’t think I want to be a designer anymore after 14 years of practicing it. But I’m still wondering…🤔 Maybe you’ve felt the same way too? I’ve been living in India for a few years now, and here are the things I’ve come to take for granted: 1. Summer almost all year round ☀️ Back in my country, you can count the sunny days on one hand, but here I enjoy warmth and sunshine almost every single day 2. Affordable food and an abundance of fresh fruits and vegetables 🥭 Especially mangoes and papayas, which cost a fortune back home! 3. Smiling people everywhere! Wherever I go, people greet me with kindness and a smile. In my country, smiling at a stranger would probably make you look a little crazy 😄 4. Ease of communication. It’s so easy to meet new people here — everyone is open and friendly, unlike in Russia 🙈 5. Delicious, incredibly diverse food. Rich in spices and flavors, so unique that now other cuisines often feel bland in comparison! 6. Meditation, yoga, and spiritual practices 🧘🏻‍♀️Here, they’re not “exotic” but simply part of daily life. 7. Colorful festivals all year round — Holi, Diwali, Ganesh Chaturthi… There’s always an atmosphere of joy and brightness 😍 8. Animals on the streets — cows, dogs, monkeys. At first it was surprising, but now it just feels like a natural part of the city landscape India has a way of turning the extraordinary into everyday life 🇮🇳💛 #india #foreigner #russianinindia #hindi
