Lol 😅😆🙌🏾 Walking through the André Leon Talley exhibition, I was in awe. It was so beautifully done and honored him in the most fabulous way possible. All of his kaftans, suits, editorials, and more. The stories behind them and the unapologetic boldness of it all was truly inspiring. It reminded me why I fell in love with fashion and style in the first place. Last Sunday was the final day of the André Leon Talley exhibit at the @scadfash Museum, and I almost missed it. I made it a point to make it on the very last day. André often spoke about how his love of fashion began in the church. He didn’t grow up with wealth or expensive things, but he cherished what his family did have. Walking through the exhibit was emotional for me because so much of his story felt familiar. My family didn’t come from money either. The church was one of the first places where I got to experiment with my style and express myself. And as another bigger, Black man working in fashion, seeing his journey felt powerful. André Leon Talley was a reminder that we belong in this space. We are fashion. Money may come and go. Money may allow you to buy beautiful things. But style is forever. Style is priceless.

I stepped into pure fashion history at the SCAD FASH Museum of Fashion + Film for the unforgettable exhibit honoring the iconic André Leon Talley. If you know fashion, you know André wasn’t just an editor — he was a presence. A storyteller. A gatekeeper. A visionary. From the runways of Paris to the pages of Vogue, he shifted culture while unapologetically being himself. Seeing his legendary capes, handwritten notes, photographs, and personal pieces up close was powerful. As a Southern-born Black man who rose to the highest levels of global fashion, his legacy feels ever so meaningful. What stood out most wasn’t just the glamour… it was the boldness. The confidence. The reminder that you can take up space in rooms that weren’t originally designed for you.
