The Trump presidency has a cap table A viral post examining financial filings has raised questions about how political power, private wealth, and business interests intersect. The claims suggest extraordinary financial gains during leadership—far beyond a president’s official salary. While the figures require verification, they raise broader concerns about transparency, conflicts of interest, and accountability. Can public office and massive private revenue coexist without undermining public trust? When political power and personal wealth overlap, who protects the public interest?
BASEBALL FANS SIDING WITH MLB OWNERS IN A POTENTIAL LOCKOUT... I THINK YOU'RE LOOKING AT THIS ALL WRONG! šŸ’°āš¾šŸ‘€ LET ME ASK YOU SOMETHING... HOW MANY OF YOU FEEL UNDERPAID AT WORK?! HOW MANY OF YOU FEEL LIKE YOU HELP MAKE YOUR COMPANY SUCCESSFUL WHILE THE PEOPLE AT THE TOP KEEP MOST OF THE PROFITS?! NOW ASK YOURSELF... WHY ARE YOU CHEERING FOR MLB OWNERS TO HAVE MORE CONTROL OVER WHAT PLAYERS EARN?! BECAUSE THE PLAYERS ARE MILLIONAIRES?! THE OWNERS CONTROL BILLION-DOLLAR BUSINESSES! AND WHO ARE THE FANS PAYING TO WATCH?! THE PLAYERS! NOT THE OWNERS! NOW LISTEN... I'M ALL FOR COMPETITIVE BALANCE! I WANT EVERY MLB TEAM TO HAVE A CHANCE TO WIN! BUT HERE'S THE PROBLEM... WE SHOULD BE HELPING TEAMS THAT ACTUALLY WANT TO COMPETE! LOOK AT THE SAN DIEGO PADRES! YES, I'M GIVING THE PADRES CREDIT! šŸ˜‚ THEY DON'T HAVE THE SAME FINANCIAL POWER AS THE DODGERS, YANKEES, OR METS! BUT THEY'VE SHOWN A WILLINGNESS TO INVEST IN WINNING! AND I RESPECT THAT! THOSE ARE THE ORGANIZATIONS THAT SHOULD BENEFIT FROM A SYSTEM DESIGNED TO HELP TEAMS COMPETE! NOT OWNERS WHO RECEIVE REVENUE SHARING AND FAIL TO REINVEST ENOUGH INTO THEIR TEAMS! NOT OWNERS WHO ARE CONTENT TO MAKE MONEY WHILE THEIR FANS WAIT FOR A REAL CHAMPIONSHIP PUSH! AND NO... NOT EVERY SMALL-MARKET TEAM IS DOING THAT! BUT THERE SHOULD BE ACCOUNTABILITY! IF YOU'RE RECEIVING FINANCIAL SUPPORT FROM THE LEAGUE... SHOW YOUR FANS THAT YOU'RE TRYING TO WIN! AND REMEMBER... A SALARY CAP DOESN'T AUTOMATICALLY MEAN COMPETITIVE BALANCE! WITHOUT SPENDING REQUIREMENTS AND ACCOUNTABILITY, IT CAN SIMPLY LIMIT WHAT PLAYERS EARN! SO BEFORE YOU SIDE WITH THE OWNERS... THINK ABOUT THE SAME THINGS YOU COMPLAIN ABOUT IN YOUR OWN WORKPLACE! WHO CREATES THE VALUE?! WHO GETS THE REWARDS?! AND WHO'S ASKING EVERYBODY ELSE TO ACCEPT LESS?! BASEBALL FANS... SHOULD MLB FOCUS ON LIMITING PLAYER SALARIES?! OR HOLDING OWNERS ACCOUNTABLE FOR INVESTING IN THEIR TEAMS?! LET'S TALK ABOUT IT! LET'S GO DODGERS! šŸ’™āš¾šŸ”„ #MLB #MLBLockout #Dodgers #SalaryCap #Baseball
YOU THINK THE DODGERS LOSING MEANS THERE WON'T BE AN MLB LOCKOUT?! šŸ˜‚āš¾šŸ’° THINK AGAIN! BECAUSE I DON'T BELIEVE THIS WAS EVER REALLY ABOUT THE DODGERS! OR PARITY! OR COMPETITIVE BALANCE! I BELIEVE IT'S ABOUT SOMETHING MUCH BIGGER... FRANCHISE VALUES AND PROFITS! THESE MLB OWNERS ARE RUNNING BILLION-DOLLAR BUSINESSES! AND WHAT DO BUSINESS OWNERS WANT?! STRONG CASH FLOW! LOWER COSTS! AND INVESTMENTS THAT CONTINUE INCREASING IN VALUE! SO WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU IMPLEMENT A SALARY CAP?! YOU POTENTIALLY LIMIT PLAYER PAYROLL EXPENSES! YOU CREATE MORE PREDICTABLE LABOR COSTS! AND YOU GIVE OWNERS AN OPPORTUNITY TO PROTECT THEIR MARGINS! THAT'S A PRETTY BIG FINANCIAL INCENTIVE! BUT THEY WANT FANS TO BELIEVE THIS IS ALL ABOUT MAKING BASEBALL FAIR! COME ON NOW! šŸ˜‚ THE DODGERS JUST GOT SWEPT BY THE MILWAUKEE BREWERS! A TEAM WITH A MUCH SMALLER PAYROLL! THAT ALONE SHOULD REMIND EVERYBODY... MONEY DOESN'T GUARANTEE CHAMPIONSHIPS! YOU STILL HAVE TO WIN ON THE FIELD! AND THE BREWERS DID EXACTLY THAT! MEANWHILE, THESE OWNERS ARE PERFECTLY HAPPY BENEFITING FROM THE ATTENTION AND REVENUE THE DODGERS GENERATE! BUT WHEN IT COMES TO PAYING PLAYERS?! SUDDENLY WE NEED MORE RESTRICTIONS?! I'M NOT BUYING THE SALES PITCH! NOW, NOT EVERY OWNER HAS THE SAME MOTIVATIONS, AND A SALARY CAP DOESN'T AUTOMATICALLY INCREASE FRANCHISE VALUE. BUT THE INCENTIVE TO CONTROL PLAYER COSTS IS REAL! AND THAT'S WHY I STILL EXPECT A LOCKOUT WHEN THE CBA EXPIRES! DO I THINK IT'LL BE A LONG ONE?! PERSONALLY, NO! I THINK THE FINANCIAL PRESSURE WILL EVENTUALLY BRING BOTH SIDES BACK TO THE TABLE! BUT MAKE NO MISTAKE... I DON'T BELIEVE THE OWNERS ARE FIGHTING THIS BATTLE FOR THE FANS! THEY'RE FIGHTING FOR THEIR BUSINESS INTERESTS! BASEBALL FANS... DO YOU THINK THIS IS ABOUT COMPETITIVE BALANCE?! OR ABOUT OWNERS PROTECTING THEIR PROFITS?! LET'S TALK ABOUT IT! LET'S GO DODGERS! šŸ’™āš¾šŸ”„ #Dodgers #MLB #MLBLockout #SalaryCap #DodgerNation
Official details of the MLB’s reported offer to the MLBPA. The offer includes a salary cap and salary floor! The two sides are worlds apart and we may not have any baseball in 2027! #mlb #baseball #sports #yankees #dodgers
The MLB is on the verge of a lockout - and the clock is ticking. If the league and players can’t reach a deal by December, the league will go into a lockout and if they don’t by early February, the 2027 season will get delayed. That sounds like a lot of time, but with the World Series wrapping up in the next two weeks, there are really only about two months of actual negotiation time. Here’s where the two sides stand. The owners want a salary cap of $245.3 million with a spending floor of $171 million. The players want higher minimum salaries, higher luxury tax thresholds, an expanded roster from 26 to 28 players, a competitive integrity tax on low-spending teams, and a ban on prop wagers that target individual players. Three small-market teams are in baseball’s final four. The Guardians’ payroll is roughly 20% of the Dodgers’. MLB wants a salary cap. Their main argument: competitive balance. But competitive balance looks just fine this October. Is it sustainable without a cap? That’s the real question — and I have thoughts. New Daily Dose in the link in bio. #SalaryCap #NLCS #ALCS
Everybody loves a small-market World Series. And so do I. But when teams with smaller payrolls make it this far, what lesson are MLB owners taking away? That they can win without spending more? I’m all for players getting paid. I’m all for fans being able to afford to watch their teams. And I understand that owners are running businesses. But if we’re going to talk about putting a salary cap on players, why aren’t we talking about putting a cap on ownership profits, too? And what if some of that money went back to the fans who make this whole thing possible? Baseball is a business. But it doesn’t exist without the fans. Am I crazy for thinking this? #MLB #WorldSeries #Baseball #MLBOwners #SportsBusiness

Would a salary cap actually level MLB's playing field or just reward teams that find loopholes? #MLB #Dodgers
MLB owners ā€œ100%ā€ want a salary cap, but I still don’t understand what people think that will solve. Your sucky franchise will still be sucky #losangelesdodgers #mlb #salarycap #baseball
We do not need a salary cap and the NLCS exposed that #mlb #postseasonbaseball #worldseries
