About tap, about life, about a world which, sadly, is becoming increasingly darker every day. Ever the Eternal Optimist, Alie is entering her fourth year as an adjunct theatre professor at @samfordu! Samford is a private Christian university in Homewood, Alabama, a suburb of her hometown of Birmingham! Alie teaches a Community Engagement course there. Alie holds a BFA in Musical Theatre from @belmontu here in Nashville 🐶, and her MA in Arts in Medicine from the @uflorida. 🐊 Alie is an actor, teaching artist, and disability inclusion consultant. She is the creator and producer of ABLE: a series, a documentary series discussing disability inclusion in the arts. Alie B. is the founder of Songs for Sight, an organization that serves children and teens in Alabama with low vision. Why did someone not tell me how hard it would be to leave my child at college. The lump in my throat continued to grow every minute that passed from when I woke up at 4:48 AM that morning until hours after we returned home. Once I got back home, I had to go into another room by myself just because their was a hole in my heart that I couldn’t fill and part of my Gudger tribe was gone! As parents we love, we protect, we nurture, we provide for, we work hard for them to have a better life than what we had, and we pray and hope that they are ready for this cruel world the day it’s their time to step out on their own. I now realize, he’s ready… I just never realized that I wasn’t. I love you Tripp and are proud of the young man you have become. Grandpa is with ya and smiling down on you! My dad would always say “call me”…now, being on this side of the fence, I truly understand why. #digmygig #proudfather #college #samforduniversity
