Sanding is one of the biggest things that determines whether your finish looks smooth… or not. Here’s what actually matters: • Don’t skip grits Skipping steps doesn’t save time. It leaves scratches that show through your finish • Know your end goal before you start Paint → stop around 150 grit Paint wash → go to 220 grit Stain → around 180–200 grit • No dust = no sanding If you’re not seeing dust, your sandpaper is worn out or it’s time to move up a grit • Stop using one sander for everything Orbital = flat surfaces Mouse/detail sander = edges, curves, corners (I add flexible pads to hit all th edges without flattening them) • Let the sandpaper do the work Pressing harder won’t make it faster, it just creates uneven results Once I started doing this, everything got smoother (literally). 🥳 Comment SAND and I’ll send you my free 6 page sanding guide with all the tools I use! Have you sanded your own floors? I think I was influenced on social media, by the magic of sanding your own floors, but it not magic. Not at all. We had to take it back to be repaired so we couldn’t sand for another week. And it didn’t get much better when we tried agin. I don’t think it will ever hire a floor sander again, its more pain then its worth! #renovation #victorianrenovation #victorianhouse #sanding #floorsanding

One of the best sanding hacks around! 🤯 ✨comment SAND to shop the foam pad I love a product that actually makes life easier, and this one takes the cake! This foam sanding attachment is perfect to use when sanding round corners and edges. It attaches right onto your orbital sander then you can add your sandpaper on top. I’ve used this product for years now and it’s been a game changer! #sanding #woodwork #furnitureflip #furnituremakeover #diyproject
