Starting the evening with choosing your favourite snacks before boarding and watching a movie in pyjamas with a person you love while the landscapes pass by ⛰️ For me - 12 hours is nothing when this is the experience you get in return. This is the MOST beautiful train ride in the United States…😍 When we finished our Alaskan cruise, we had the option to either take the bus to the airport or take the scenic train! To us, that was a no brainer and we opted for the longer train ride. We had no idea what to expect, but when we did our research we quickly found out that this train route is one of the most beautiful in the United States! AND it lived up to those high expectations 🙌 You seriously are staring at a picture every single time you look out the window with a new sight to see each time! Whether that is a new mountain, the changing of leaves, glaciers in the distance, or even flowing rivers below the train — it was so beautiful that it literally felt fake at times! 🚝🇨🇭CHEAP SCENIC TRAIN SWITZERLAND (that you don’t have to pay a seat reservation on!) 👇🏻 I am not gatekeeping this incredible hack I accidentally stumbled across in Switzerland as everyone needs to experience this beautiful train once in their life 🥹✨ 📍This is the scenic train from Chur to St Moritz. The journey takes just over two hours, and takes you through the UNESCO world heritage site of the Albula and Bernina Railway. 👉🏻This is the same line which the famous Bernina Express takes, but for that train you need an expensive seat reservation on top of your ticket to take the Bernina Express. 👉🏻This train is a great way to save money as there’s no mandatory seat reservation, whilst still getting just as amazing views, with the added bonus of the cool carriage where the windows open! 👉🏻You can get either the IR38 or RE38 train to take this route, and you’ll want to look for a train with the ‘FW’ code, this means it has the compartment where the windows open to get the best views. 👉🏻You can book this on the SBB app or also on trainline. I didn’t prebook and the train was pretty empty for me but this may be different in summer! This is a sign to travel NZ ✨😍 Finally ticked off one of my train bucket list items with the TranzAlpine Scenic Train 🚂 After the Northern Explorer in north island, this time I finally did the Christchurch to Greymouth route during winter time 🥹 The whole trip was absolutely magical, surrounded by snowcapped mountains and rivers (see tips below ⬇️).
