As the year comes to a close, all of us at Scouting America wish you a joyful holiday season filled with gratitude, reflection and connection with those you love. This time of year reminds us of the values that unite us - service, leadership and a commitment to doing our best! Guided by the Scout Oath and Scout Law, Scouts - from the oldest in Venturing, to the youngest in Cub Scouts - across the country continue to make a positive difference in their communities. Thank you to every partner, parent, volunteer, leader and supporter who help prepare young people...for life. From all of us at Scouting America - including our CEO and Chief Scout Executive, Roger Krone, and his Cub Scout friends - happy holidays! #ScoutingAmerica #ThankstoScouting #Scouting #ScoutsBSA #Scouts #Scout #VenturingBSA #SeaScouts #CubScouts #CubScout #CubScouting #EagleScout #EagleScouts #Holidays2025 #HappyHolidays

This past weekend, I had the opportunity to attend the 2026 National Jamboree. It was great to spend time with Scouts, leaders, and volunteers from across the country and see firsthand the values of leadership, service, and patriotism that Scouting America continues to instill in the next generation.

At City Hall today, Sheriff Rochelle Bilal highlighted the power of mentorship, leadership, and opportunity for Philadelphia’s youth and shared a bold vision for expanding Scouting America to prepare the next generation of ethical, community-minded leaders. Scouting‘s 116th Anniversary raised three US Flags which will be given to the National 250th Committee. #phillysheriff

The Department of War has officially put Scouting America on notice. It’s time to get back to basics — and DoW is leading the charge.

The theme of this year's Super Bowl Party is "The Power of Resilience" - we are incredibly proud to spotlight the work of Scouting America; a social impact organization that teaches our kids an appreciation of nature, how to overcome challenges, and the importance of community, loyalty and service. They are building resilient humans who give us hope for the next generation. I was a proud Boy Scout myself and applaud this wonderful organization.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth is threatening Scouts. The Pentagon issued a warning late Monday to Scouting America, formerly known as the Boy Scouts, saying the organization risks losing its long-standing partnership with the U.S. military unless it rapidly implements “core value reforms.” The public warning, delivered on social media by Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell, comes just months before thousands of Scouts are expected in West Virginia for National Jamboree, a once-every-four-years camping summit that relies on hundreds of National Guard and active-duty service members for medical, security and logistical support. A sudden loss of that support could jeopardize the youth gathering. The organization has been in Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth’s crosshairs for years, ever since the group allowed girls to join and in 2024 said it would rebrand as Scouting America to project its inclusiveness. Hegseth is an avowed critic of diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives and has worked aggressively during his tenure atop the Pentagon to purge what he calls “woke” programs — and people — from the institution. The Pentagon in recent days had begun finalizing plans to end all support for the Scouts, seeking input from the National Guard and the military’s active-duty components on the potential impact of such a move, said multiple people familiar with a draft memo detailing the plans. Three days into the new year, Roger Krone – CEO and Chief Scout Executive of Scouting America – had the privilege of attending an Eagle Scout Court of Honor (COH) in Annapolis, Maryland. On Saturday, January 3, Roger spoke with Harry E. from Troop 422, congratulating him and asking him to reflect on his journey to Eagle. Not only has Harry made incredible memories and lent a hand through Scouting, but he’s also learned leadership skills and grown in character, too. From coast to coast, kids – like Harry and even younger – are doing amazing things for their communities through Scouting. As we congratulate Harry, we simultaneously thank all Scouts for Doing a Good Turn, giving back and helping those in need. Cheers to active community involvement and all the young people who will achieve the rank of Eagle Scout in 2026! P.S. – If you’re curious about Scouting America (volunteering, getting your kid(s) involved, etc.), visit www.BeAScout.org, today. #ScoutingAmerica #ScoutsBSA #EagleScout #EagleScouts #Scouting #Scouts #Scout #YouthLeadership #CharacterDevelopment #GiveBack #DoGood

Today’s CPR class in Mahwah, NJ was a special one! Michelle specifically reached out to me because she remembered me from 14 years ago, when I came to her youngest son’s Cub Scout pack through Scouting America to teach CPR and emergency preparedness. She had kept my contact information all these years later, and now, with a new job requiring CPR training, she remembered me and knew exactly who she wanted to call. It was such a meaningful reminder that the connections we make can truly last a lifetime. Education is about more than a certification card. It’s about making an impression, building trust, and giving people skills they can carry with them for years. 📍 Bergen County, NJ ❤️ CPR • First Aid • BLS • ACLS • PALS ⚡ AED Training 👶 Infant & Child CPR & Safety 🏢 Private, Family & Group Training 👉Visit: www.TrueEmergencyEducation.com 👉Call or text: 551-245-7122 #CubScouts #ScoutingAmerica #NewJob #MahwahNJ #NorthJersey
