What is transshipment? At sea, krill isn’t brought back to port. It’s offloaded to carrier ships… so fishing never stops. The net stays in the water as much as possible, all season long. Day after day. Night after night. ❄️🚢 This is how the industry becomes a floating factory. Continuous extraction in one of the most important feeding grounds on Earth. 🐋 All the machinery is there to keep going. No pause. No break. No relief for the ecosystem. Krill is the foundation of life here. This is industrial plunder. Share this. Help expose it. 🌊🔥 📸 Martina Birrer / Sea Shepherd #AntarcticaSOS #KrillCrisis #StopThePlunder #EdgeOfTheWorld #SeaShepherd
📸: @diego_baravelli
What's the infamous Drake Passage? As Sea Shepherd prepares for another Antarctic mission, one crew member reflects on the journey. The Drake Passage is not for the faint of heart—powerful seas, relentless winds, and days of uncertainty stand between us and Antarctica. But protecting the Southern Ocean has never been about taking the easy route. It’s about showing up, no matter the conditions. #SeaShepherd #AntarcticMission #DrakePassage #SouthernOcean #stoptheplunder 🎥 by @newton.se
From stopping whalers to standing up to the #krillfleet, we have proven that resistance works. But today, the stakes are higher than ever. As our crew prepares to head back to #Antarctica, the growing threat is putting whales and the entire Southern Ocean ecosystem at risk. Industrial krill fishing is expanding fast, while protections fall behind. To face this escalating crisis, laws must evolve, protections must be strengthened, and pressure from consumers and retailers must grow. Here is how you can help right now 👇 1️⃣ Share this issue and help others understand the krill crisis 2️⃣ Become an Ocean Warrior. Monthly support, any amount, fuels frontline action. Link in bio 3️⃣ Say no to krill products and help expose where krill hides in everyday items This fight is far from over. Together, we can stop the plunder 🌊✊ #StopThePlunder #Antarctica #KrillCrisis #ProtectTheOcean 🎥 Alice Gregoire / Sea Shepherd
🇧🇷 OBRIGADO, BRASIL! THANK YOU BRAZIL! 🇧🇷 By welcoming The Bandero, Brazil has shown the world what it stands for: 🌎 That it cares about the environment. ✊That it stands with those who defend it. 🐋That it chooses our blue planet over commercial interests. Brazil has long been an ally of Captain Paul Watson and the movement to protect life at sea. Its support sends a clear message: the oceans matter, and those who fight for them are not alone. Having worked so hard to protect our ocean, the crew and ship were left stranded when The Falklands chose to side with commercial interests and deny them access. Nathalie Gil from Sea Shepherd Brazil is currently onboard The Bandero, standing shoulder to shoulder with the crew on this vital mission. From Antarctica, to Brazil, we stand united! 🇧🇷 Show your appreciation for Brazil welcoming our crew below, drop your flag in the comments! 👇🇧🇷 In collaboration with @seashepherdfrance
Because of you, we did it. FOLLOW US. FOLLOWS HELP. There are moments out here where it becomes almost impossible to keep count. Whales surfacing in every direction, again and again. It is exactly why the science team is here. Through transects, every sighting is recorded to understand how these animals are using this space. And a pattern is taking shape. The same areas targeted by the krill fishing fleet are also some of the most active feeding grounds for whales. This is how you turn observation into evidence. 🎥 The full story is on YouTube. Sea Shepherd blocks illegal whaling ships in Antarctic waters — ramming them with no weapons and no backup. These crews sail into some of the most hostile waters on Earth and physically place themselves between hunters and whales. Their campaigns have directly interrupted illegal whaling operations, protecting thousands of whales through direct action, ship interceptions, and net cutting. The most extreme conservation tactic in the ocean. #ocean #deepsea #oceanpulse #seashepherd #whaling

#TBT UCBio 2026 "Naquele dia eu deixei o planeta Terra e entrei no planeta Oceano." #ucbiobio2026 #SeaShepherdBrasil #paulwatson #biocentrismo
