SEAWOLVES AGAINST RACISM! #againstracism #seawolvesagainstracism

Beautiful footage by @atticuspoetry I had to repost. It’s a dream of mine to meet these wolves one day 🐺 He writes: “I don’t often share the real stories behind my life — I’ve always preferred the quiet corners, the pseudo-privacy that lets the work speak louder than I do. But something happened recently in the Great Bear Rainforest that I haven’t been able to shake. I’d been searching for the elusive coastal wolves for years. They’re shy, careful, almost sacred creatures — the kind you don’t find unless they decide to let you. One morning, while kayaking upriver, I got stuck on a shallow patch of rocks. It forced me into stillness, the kind you don’t choose but somehow need. And in that suspended moment, they appeared. One wolf stepped out of the trees. Then another. Then an entire pack. They could have vanished as quickly as they came, but instead they moved toward me — curious, cautious, impossibly close. For a few unforgettable minutes, I just existed there with them, breathing the same air, feeling the weight of their presence and their trust. It was one of the most surreal, spiritual encounters of my life. A reminder of how fragile the wild has become, and how much these creatures need us to protect what remains of their world. I wrote the full story on Substack — the encounter, what it taught me, and how you can help protect wolves in British Columbia.
It’s called A Moment With Wolves, and it might be the most personal thing I’ve shared. Check it out at the link in bio. @atticuspoetry Love from the shadows,
Atticus” #seawolves #coastalwolf #wolf #wolves #britishcolumbia #canada #greatbearrainforest

Life’s a handful, or a pawful, when you’re raising a family in the wild! This wolf mom and her pups are part of a special population that lives in the coastal rainforests of British Columbia. Often called “sea wolves,” they tend to be smaller and leaner than their inland cousins and have adapted to life by the sea, feeding on everything from fish to mussels. Our co-founders have spent weeks at a time gaining the trust of the packs that roam the intertidal zone. They even had the honour of becoming the designated babysitters for a playful litter of pups! “We think we’re good enough to go to Omaha.” 👀 Stony Brook couldn’t even win the America East tournament in 2011. But the Seawolves believed anyway — and made it all the way to the College World Series.
