Joined my sisters and brothers at the LA Fed’s Annual MLK Day Breakfast this morning, reflecting on the movement’s beginnings through the theme “Back to Our Roots.” It was a meaningful reminder of the values Dr. King stood for—community, service, and lifting one another up. As Martin Luther King Jr. said, “Everybody can be great, because everybody can serve.” Grateful for the opportunity to come together in the spirit of unity, compassion, and hope. #MLKDay #BackToOurRoots #DayOfService #Community #Unity #ServiceAboveSelf #SharedValues #TogetherWeRise #HonoringDrKing #Grateful #BuildingCommunity #HopeInAction

Yesterday was a great day of service, fellowship, and community impact! ❤️Jamie and I were honored to partner with Pohanka and Greater Samaritan Ventures for the Be the Church Sunday community outreach event. It was inspiring to see so many organizations, volunteers, and community leaders come together to meet the needs of families throughout Prince George’s County. Together, we helped provide free gas to 700 vehicles, distributed groceries to families in need, and connected residents with resources to assist with their electric bills through Pepco’s on-site support. The impact was truly incredible. A special thank you to Pastor Kevin Gresham @kvgreshamii and the entire team for your vision, leadership, and unwavering commitment to serving others. We were truly honored to be a part of such a meaningful and impactful day. Special shout-out to Governor Wes Moore and County Executive Aisha Braveboy for their continued support of initiatives that strengthen, uplift, and empower our communities.Together, we can make a difference. 🙏🏾✨ #BeTheChurchSunday #CommunityFirst #ServiceAboveSelf #Pohanka GreaterSamaritanVentures WesMoore AishaBraveboy CommunityImpact GivingBack PrinceGeorgesCounty

“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others…” 1 Peter 4:10 Service is a duty. Therefore I am always proud to serve my country, my region, and the people of this imperfect yet beautiful world. Hon. Dr. Terrance Drew said to make a positive impact for the benefit of our people. Serving as Vice Chair of the Intergovernmental Negotiating Committee on the UN Framework Convention on International Tax Cooperation will ensure that small island developing states have a loud voice in the creation of this important international law, for the economic benefit of generations to come. #ServiceAboveSelf

💚 MLK Day of Service 💚 On Monday, January 19th, I was honored to serve the Prince George’s County community alongside eight chapters of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. Spread across three locations, and thanks to thousands of generous contributions, we collected and distributed winter care kits and school uniforms for children in need. Dr. King reminded us that “Everybody can be great because everybody can serve.” Today, we lived that truth. #MLKDayOfService #ServiceAboveSelf #AKAService #PGCounty #District25

Nelson Mandela is one of my personal heroes, one I’ve looked up to from a young age because of what he stood for - resilience, courage, and an unwavering commitment to serving people. This Mandela Day, known the world over as the International Day of Service, I want to remind you all of Mandela’s powerful legacy and the lessons we can all learn from his life. #mandeladay #serviceaboveself #love #giving

This Black History Month, we honor a legacy rooted in courage, commitment, and community. Yvette Darden broke barriers as the first Black female officer, dispatcher, and detective in NMBPD history. Her daughter, Renee Darden, has proudly served our city for more than two decades. Today, Detective Corey Darden represents the third generation of the Darden family to wear the badge, continuing a tradition that began with trailblazing determination. For three generations, the Darden family has answered the call to serve North Miami Beach. History. Legacy. Service. #BlackHistoryMonth #NMBPD #FamilyLegacy #ServiceAboveSelf
