Setoda may be a small, remote town, but it holds some of Hiroshima’s most striking landmarks: •Kosanji Temple – a colorful pagoda and temple complex built in 1936. •The Cave of 1000 Buddhas – statues lining an underground passage. •The Hill of Hope – a marble sculpture park overlooking the sea. All in one small town in the Seto Inland Sea.

You need to add Setoda, Japan as a MUST VISIT place on your travel list.  Located through Setonaikai National Park is the Kaido Cycling road. This 70 KM cycling road will take you through islands, mountains and ocean views. Located 30 KM from your starting point in Onomichi City on the Kaido cycling road is this little treasure of Setoda.  This peaceful haven was filled with wonderful people, incredible food and beautiful biking trails. Do yourself a favour and add it to the list! Founded by Adrian Zecha, the visionary behind Aman, Azumi reimagines the traditional ryokan through timeless design and deep respect for place. Hidden behind dark wood and curved roof tiles, the former 140-year-old home of the Horiuchi family unfolds in washi paper, plaster, and timber, every beam reflecting its history. Across the street, Yubune bathhouse welcomes locals and guests to soak beneath colorful tile artworks by Mai Miyake, while Kōsanji Temple and citrus groves surround the area. As the sun sets between scattered islands, everything turns into gold.
