1. It’s not a big team behind the brand. We have one full time employee other than me (and my sister and mum help too plus a local lady steams and packs any returns!) 2. I sew some of our early samples which are generally terrible but the factory makes them into finalised designs. 3. I relaunched the entire brand on a credit card (no investors and thankfully it’s now paid off) 4. Quality is the hill I’ll die on 5. I went through about 5 knitwear factories until I found a good one 6. Our customers are the kindest people they often leave sweet notes in exchanges & returns. 7. A shocking amount of the brand is run from my bed. 8. My favourite thing about this brand is it feels like the skys the limit there’s no ceiling on what it could become 9. My biggest fear is having money worries 10. I think taking a break from the brand was the best thing I could have done because it made me realise how much I love it.

One of the most unique sewing studios in San Diego, run by an artist-owner with an incredible story 🧵✨ Located in Barrio Logan is a true local gem, @sewloka, a community-driven studio where you can learn to sew and create pieces from scratch, like lounge pants, tote bags, zipper pouches, and more 👖👜🪡. Founded by Claudia, who learned to sew from her dad, a denim designer, the studio features designs inspired by her cultural heritage and Chicano identity, all within a welcoming space centered on slow fashion, creativity 🎨, and connection. We had a chance to talk to Claudia, and she has the best energy. Very inviting, funny, and passionate. Depending on the workshop or lesson, you’ll start by choosing your fabric 🧶, and from there, Claudia walks you through everything step by step, including how to use the sewing machine ✂️🪡. You can choose from group workshops or one-on-one lessons. Two weeks ago, we bought a cafe. @thevillagegrocercarcoar. We open today! 8am to 3pm. This insane transformation wouldn’t have been possible without @howarth_built @brushworkx_painting_decorating @thepoplarsfarm @chelsea_ceramics and many more locals who pitched in to paint, cook, sew and deliver local produce. If you are in town for @orangefoodweek or visitng the @millthorpemarkets today, pop by. This is the beginning of @saltash__farm and we couldn’t be more excited. E + N x PS we are missing one light. Currently sitting at Kelso depot for delivery!

HELP! I'm drowning in scrap fabric. How do you use up your tiny scrap fabric? Too small to sew it, too much to chop it up and use it as stuffing for.... something???
