Using a powerful pulling motion with lasting pliers and precise manipulation of the folds, the bespoke shoemaker shapes the supple upper leather three-dimensionally over the last; specialized pliers are used to secure the leather upper to the insole under high tension, ensuring it conforms exactly to the contours. What appears to be traditional craftsmanship relies on complex stretching mechanics, the viscoelastic behavior of natural leather, and ergonomic force transmission to give the shoe its enduring, anatomically perfect fit and structural stability.

Markus hat mich dazu inspiriert, einen ausgefallenen und gleichzeitig perfekten Tuxedo Slipper zu gestalten. Dafür haben wir uns für bedrucktes Rindsleder im Leopardenmuster entschieden – inspiriert von der lässigen Coolness und dem Glamour der 1970er-Jahre. Elegant, ein bisschen wild und definitiv ein Statement. Ich kann es kaum erwarten, die Schuhe endlich auszuführen. Und die erste große Gelegenheit steht schon fest: die Filmfestspiele in Venedig. #shoemaker
