Godzilla Returns: The R34 Face-Off 🐉⚪️ This was easily one of the most intense segments of the Carwow GT-R mega-movie. Big thanks to Matt Watson and the crew for bringing these legendary Skyline generations together for a proper showdown. A massive shoutout to the owners and drivers, @dorianmariusionel and @aff_exclusive for pushing these high-value machines to the absolute limit. It’s rare to see cars of this caliber driven this hard on camera. 🙌 The Contenders • The White R34: Driven by Marius, this car is a technical masterpiece. It features a 2.8L HKS Step 2 stroker engine and a massive single turbo. With a build value approaching £280,000, it’s as much an investment as it is a race car. The Bayside Blue/Purple R34: Driven by Afy, this car is a visual tribute to GT-R history, rocking a split-paint job of Midnight Purple III and Bayside Blue. Afy kept things “old school” by sticking with a traditional H-pattern manual gearbox—a brave choice against 1000HP. The Race Drama The tension was high from the start. During the warm-up, Marius’ white R34 suffered a mechanical failure that resulted in a fire in the engine bay. While many would have packed up and gone home, the team performed some quick “trackside surgery” to get the car back into the race. It was a classic “Phoenix rising from the ashes” moment. 🛠️💨 The Result When it finally came time to line up, the race was incredibly close. Afy got a great jump off the line in the Bayside Blue car, but the sheer power of Marius’ white R34 eventually took over.
