But if that’s all we look for… we miss most of the disease. Endo is subtle. It sticks, tethers, hides in plain sight. When you scan deeper—sliding sign, USLs, posterior compartment—the whole map lights up. The more we look, the more we find. And the more answers our patients finally get. Stay curious. It’s honestly so frustrating. I’m a qualified, experienced sonographer trained in the U.S. I’ve scanned patients, worked in clinics, handled real responsibility… and I’m actually overqualified for some of the roles I’m applying for. Yet somehow it’s still “not enough” because I don’t have UK experience. How am I supposed to get UK experience if no one is willing to give me the opportunity? What makes it even harder is knowing there’s a shortage in the field, long waiting lists, pressure on departments… and still internationally trained professionals are being turned away. It doesn’t make sense. Starting over in a new country is humbling in ways people don’t see. I know my skills are real. I just need someone to open the door. Normal imaging does not rule out endometriosis. Pain severity does not equal disease stage. And repeated severe pain should never be dismissed. Endometriosis pain management often includes: • Hormonal therapy • Pelvic floor physical therapy • Lifestyle + pain support like anti inflammatory diet • Multidisciplinary care or Acupuncture.
