SpaceX's Starship deployed all 26 Starlink V3 satellites into orbit during Flight 14, which launched from Starbase, Texas, on September 28, 2026, the first time the next-generation satellites have been deployed into orbit. SpaceX says the 26 satellites will add 26 Tbps of capacity in total, about 10 times a single Falcon 9 launch of V2 mini satellites. Three carry cameras designed to image Starship's heat shield. After on-orbit checkouts, SpaceX says the satellites could begin serving customers as soon as a few weeks after launch.

SpaceX’s Starship Flight 14 just deployed its first batch of next-generation V3 Starlink satellites—and we got an incredible view from one of the satellites.

Most aerospace companies never questioned what things should cost. They inherited supply chains built by government contractors who had no reason to cut margins. Every part passed through layers of markup before it reached the rocket.
SpaceX approached it differently. Musk called the gap between raw material cost and finished part price the “Idiot Index.” If a part costs $120,000 but its raw materials are worth a few hundred dollars, somebody in the chain is taking a cut they haven’t earned.
Building in-house fixed that. It also gave SpaceX something no competitor had — total control over quality, timeline, and price. That advantage compounds over every launch.

Tesla and SpaceX just unveiled a next-generation Roadster that can drive upside down, flip midair, and briefly fly 🚀
During its October 15 unveiling in Texas, Tesla demonstrated the Roadster using powerful suction fans to grip an inverted ramp and cold-gas thrusters to flip midair.
The car also jumped over several Tesla vehicles, while its SpaceX-inspired propulsion system demonstrated capabilities beyond ordinary electric cars, including acceleration from 0 to 60 mph in under one second.
Tesla introduced three versions called Performance, Thrust, and Rocket, with increasingly advanced propulsion systems and capabilities.

In 2004, a SpaceX engineer needed a single actuator to steer the Falcon 1 rocket. He had never built hardware before, so he asked a supplier for a quote. It came back at $120,000.
Elon Musk looked at the number and laughed, comparing the part to a garage door opener. He gave the engineer a budget of $5,000 instead. The engineer delivered a working actuator for $3,900, a fraction of the outsourced price. That habit of refusing default suppliers scaled with the company: SpaceX now manufactures roughly 85 percent of its hardware in-house, and launch costs have fallen from about $54,500 per kilogram on the retired Space Shuttle to close to $2,720 per kilogram on a reused Falcon 9 today.
Every industry has a default markup baked into its supplier list. Most companies pay it without checking.
The cheapest part is usually the one nobody quoted you.

🚨SpaceX Completed Booster 21's Static Fire on August 29th.
It is now back in Mega Bay 1, undergoing final preparation for Starship Flight 14!
SpaceX has launched the company’s Super Heavy-Starship on its first flight to orbit, marking a major step toward perfecting the world’s most powerful rocket for commercial flights and NASA moon missions.
