Nothing I’d rather do on a cold, rainy day! ☔️🥶 Congrats to everyone who ran the @runcrs Spring Run-Off. 🏆 That was NO JOKE. 😜 I think my legs might still be in High Park, so please return them if found. ☠️ A huge thank you to all the amazing volunteers, staff and electric energy out there this weekend. ⚡️⚡️⚡️ Time: 32.54 AG: 🥈 Overall: 20th Spend time with positive people who are cheering themselves and others on. The south arm of #GreatSaltLake has come up five feet since it reached its historic low in November. This comparison shows the marina and its surrounding beach at Great Salt Lake State Park before and after this year’s spring runoff. Despite only being my second time to this beautiful raging waterfall, I think I'll be making it a yearly tradition to hike it each spring when the water is running strong! And on that topic of strong water, please don't ever underestimate the power of water. We had the unfortunate situation recently where a young girl lost her life at this exact waterfall, as she was swept away by the stong currents. I fully support solo hiking, as she was doing, and I think that should be celebrated and encouraged for both Women and Men. Many comments were giving her a hard time for being alone which I don't think is fair. I think it's just important to make the right decisions, and to bring the right safety measures for different hikes i.e. bear mace, GPS, proper clothing, and water. Winter/Spring 2023 in Canyonlands: “Let the Rain Fall Down” 🌧️🎶 Cut to Spring 2023 flooding on the White Rim! Our wet and snowy winter is bringing lots of spring runoff which may complicate travel in Canyonlands, particularly on the White Rim Road. The White Rim can become impassable between Labyrinth and Hardscrabble campsites when the Green River is above 14,000 CFS. Other low areas on the road can be flooded if the river continues to rise. These photos were taken in Upheaval Wash in recent years and demonstrate the sheer power of spring runoff!
