A Night in the Trees 🚐🌲 We were skeptical that a Sprinter van could be comfortable for a family of four but have thoroughly enjoyed traveling in it so far. We’re excited to share more about interior layout and dinette/wetbath design soon. 5 MUST-HAVES FOR YOUR SPRINTER VAN BURNING MAN BASE STATION 🔥🚐🏜️ Taking your Sprinter to Burning Man? After using ours as our playa base station, these are the things we wouldn’t go without: 1. DUST DEFENSE 🌪️ Bring a dustpan—you’ll use it constantly. And before you hit the playa, tape your window seams and anywhere else that fine playa dust loves to sneak through. A little prep goes a LONG way. 2. AIR CONDITIONING ❄️ Having somewhere to actually cool down in the middle of the day is a game changer. If your Sprinter doesn’t have A/C that can run while parked, build a swamp cooler. Your future playa self will thank you. 3. CREATE A “MUD ROOM” ⛺️ Set up a transition tent at your Sprinter entrance where you can take off dusty clothes, shoes and gear before climbing inside. Keeping the van as a clean sanctuary makes living out there so much better. 4. BIKES + EXTERIOR BIKE STORAGE 🚲 Bikes are essential for getting around Black Rock City—but they can eat up valuable garage space. We love our ROAMBUILT front bumper setup, which lets us carry the bikes outside and maximize the Sprinter garage for water, food, camp gear and everything else we somehow convince ourselves we need. Bonus: You can purchase and have the front bumper installed @mb_elcajon before your adventure. 5. POWER! ⚡️ Refrigerator, lights, fans, A/C, phones…the list adds up quickly. We use solar to keep our Sprinter powered off-grid, but a generator can also be a helpful option. Figure out your expected power needs before you hit the playa so your base station can keep doing its job all week. BONUS: SHOW YOUR SPRINTER SOME POST-PLAYA LOVE 🔧 Burning Man is an incredible adventure—but the playa is HARD on vehicles. When you get home, get that Sprinter into @mb_elcajon for a proper post-playa service and inspection. That ultra-fine dust finds its way into places you didn’t know existed. Adventure hard. Why not just get a bigger SUV? We skipped that step and just hit the end goal👏🏼 Also, friends who have big families and SUVs have told us it isn’t a huge upgrade from a minivan + they aren’t always super happy with them. Soooo here it is!! Now I feel obligated to fill it up tho…we’ll see🤣😅🙊 Big families, family, homeschool, homeschooling, sprinter, sprinter van, van life, Mercedes sprinter passenger van, families, children, kids
