Much love to Stephen Colbert 💙 There is a special kind of magic when a host doesn’t just conduct an interview, but creates a space that feels like the audience is part of the chat. For years, Stephen Colbert has done that for millions of viewers on the Late Show, and we are all the better for it. Being asked to join Colbert on set in 2024 was a career highlight of mine. He wanted to talk about my second book, Our Hidden Conversations: What Americans Really Think About Race and Identity, and I was excited for the opportunity to sit on the other side of the interview desk for a night. The experience exceeded even my biggest expectations, yet what surprised me most was how informal it all felt, even under all those lights and technical equipment in the Ed Sullivan Theater. Creating a sense of intimacy and accessibility in a mass media platform is tough. Television, YouTube, and social media, all spaces where Colbert thrives, often reward heat over depth, snark over intelligence, and outrage over understanding. However, Colbert can throw a punch without coming off as pugilistic. He can rib and chide and ridicule without seeming callow. He manages to hold space for both laughter and reflection. That is no small feat. And we will miss it sorely. Thank you for everything, @colbert. So many of your viewers sent in their own six-word stories to The Race Card Project. They were candid and complex, and that says about your audience and the trust you’ve built with them. It has been a true pleasure and privilege to welcome you into our homes night after night for all these years, and we are all so excited to see what this next chapter brings for you. 👏🏽 #stephencolbert #lateshow #lateshowfarewell #theracecardproject

Fifteen years ago, Stephen Colbert shared his It Gets Better message with us and told a story from his childhood that resonated with the hundreds of thousands of people who watched. He's been using his platform to help make it better ever since. Thanks for being an ally Stephen. We're better off because of you. #itgetsbetter #stephencolbert @colbert

@50cent made a memorable appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert in September 2024, where he reflected on the viral Hollywood Reporter cover shoot that saw him posing with $3.5 million in cash. During the interview, he revealed that the extravagant photoshoot was actually inspired by an iconic 1964 Sports Illustrated image of boxing legend Muhammad Ali, explaining that he wanted to recreate the legendary photograph rather than simply show off his wealth. Colbert jokingly asked why he didn't use fake money, prompting 50 Cent to laugh and explain that the cash was real and already sitting at home. The conversation blended humor with personal insight as 50 Cent discussed his career as an entrepreneur, television producer, and author, while also promoting his debut novel The Accomplice. His relaxed chemistry with Colbert and the behind-the-scenes story of the photoshoot quickly became one of the show's most talked-about celebrity interviews, offering fans a glimpse into both his business mindset and his appreciation for cultural icons like Muhammad Ali. #50Cent #StephenColbert #TheLateShow #HollywoodReporter #MuhammadAli

Tonight marks the final episode of The #StephenColbert Show. I remember being a guest on the show in 2023 and enjoying the experience immensely. Stephen Colbert is a rare talent and a principled public figure. The American people deserve voices like his, not to see them pushed aside for vile political reasons.
