People lost their minds over this photo. Why? Because I took a picture of someone in public without permission. Like… do you even know what street photography is? Every classic image you idolize was made the same way. Nobody’s handing out consent forms in the middle of the street. And here’s the joke. In the photo you can’t even see their face. Their head’s down, hat pulled low, totally anonymous. But the internet still cried about “ethics.” Ethics? The street is public. If you step outside, you’re part of the scene. Period. So yeah, keep hating. You’re just proving why street photography still matters. It makes people uncomfortable. It makes them look. That’s the whole point.

Photographers everywhere, people testing lenses, conversations about gear and image-making happening in every corner. They’re bringing the energy back. Sigma is hosting another NYC Community Pop-Up 📍 21 Spring Street 🗓 March 14 – April 4 If you’re into cameras, lenses, or just being around other image-makers… it’s worth stopping by.
