➡️Ever had a hard time changing your “mindset” all by itself?
@gabormatemd does a brilliant job explaining why taking a bottom up approach to healing AND high performance is the most efficient way to heal and get to the next level.
The gut-heart-brain axis is also the pathway of the now famous vagus nerve. If you want to get to the next level, take a @champagnepapi approach and start it from the bottom.

One of the biggest mistakes I see people make when trying to prepare themselves for a high stakes, meaningful event - like a job interview, presentation, or even a first date - is trying to breathe their way to a calm nervous system. This can work temporarily to settle you down, but as soon as you start thinking about and orienting to the event again, you’ll notice a lot of energy moving through your body.
This is good!
It means you care about what’s about to happen. And it means your body is preparing itself for you to show up engaged, alert, and energized.
You don’t wan’t to get in war with that energy, constantly trying to calm it down every time it arises.
You instead want to meet it, appreciate it, and then direct it in a meaningful way that lets it become your ally. This is where positive visualization can be very useful.
Of course, negative visualization can sometimes be useful too, but I would save that for the preparation stage. For instance, anticipating and visualizing what could go wrong as a way of figuring out how to prepare better and what to think through ahead of time (this is actual a goal setting technique founded by psychologist, Gabriele Oettingen.
But my suggestion is to use this strategy sparingly. If you go TOO deep into worst case scenarios, it can be quite discouraging, and sometimes cause you to sabotage the process before you even get started.
As Brene Brown says about the book writing process: “Write with the cheering voices in mind” … (as opposed to the 1-star Amazon review voices).
Hope this helps! Let me know your thoughts/questions in the comments.
And if you’d like to take this deeper, and get to the heart of the beliefs, patterns, and subconscious pains that are causing excess stress and fear in your life, that’s where the 30-Day course can further guide you. People are having big releases every single day that are deeply impacting how they live in a more free, grounded, and aligned way. Let’s take a reset together ✨
This simple vagus nerve reset (known as the half-salamander exercise) is a simple and easy way to drop back into your body and shift your nervous system to expand its capacity. These exercises allow you to drop into your body, building space between your trigger and your response. By practicing these tools regularly, you’re continuing to remind yourself the build space and resilience.
Give it a try and let me know what you think!

Pause for a moment and try the 1:2 breathing practice, where your exhale is twice as long as your inhale. Stay with it for 1 to 5 minutes, or simply as long as it feels good 🤍
With each longer exhale, your body softens. The parasympathetic nervous system switches on, your heartbeat steadies, and the weight of stress begins to melt away
And if you’d like to dive deeper into breathwork, we’d love to welcome you to our studio @into.meditation for a breathwork session with gongs

▶️ This is a 6 Hz Theta brainwave carried on a pure 174 Hz Solfeggio frequency. It’s designed to help calm the brain, reset mental noise, and support a relaxed state of mind.
As you listen, your brain begins to sync with the steady 6 Hz rhythm, a process called brainwave entrainment.
The 174 Hz solfeggio frequency is commonly associated with grounding and calming the mind.
I created this combination to maximize the relaxing effect while keeping it pure and simple.
Just listen, breathe, and let your mind sync with the sound.

Vulnerability-based communication in the presence of safe, reliable and predictable people is far more effective than the demand-withdrawal communication that many use in relationships. @gabormatemd nails it on the @jayshetty podcast.
