Yo!! Just received the @sunn_amps Beta Mini from their first production run. My old dusty ass no longer needs to lug around a 90 pound amp, this is less than 4 pounds. Wowowow. #sunnamps #sunn #gear #guitaramp #bassamp

Yesterday was subtle textures. Today’s a different story. Merle was in helping us work through the amp wall, so naturally… we put the SLO-30 on the bench. Running it through (for quick testing) the Orange cab loaded with 4×10s— EVMs and Sunn Magnas (Altecs). Tight. Fast. Doesn’t give you anything you didn’t earn. We’re even kicking around a tube swap— 5881 → 7581… just to see how far it wants to go. Some amps are forgiving. Slab batch 2 enclosures are scheduled for production in mid-late April and components have all been ordered. So I should be able to start assembly in the beginning of May. I'll update when I have a firm release date. I haven't made a video in a while. This is one Slab plugged into the Matamp 1224 with built in spring reverb through a 2x12 with Celestion Greenbacks mic'ed with the Beyerdynamic M160 and M201.

You asked and I listened! This one is for the bass players! This is a bass specific Sepulcrum which features the OD/HM-2 circuit supplemented by an additional clean blend. Hope to have it on the site by next week and record a proper demo of that release.

My latest: MODEL 1. What makes this amp different from anything I’ve done yet is that it features one of my Vintage Console Boosts built into the front end. So you get a Cinemag step up transformer and a boost at the flip of a switch. NOS RCA 7189’s, a 12AT7 phase inverter tube and a NOS 5879 in V1…All built from scratch in a Hammond AO-39 chassis out of a B3 organ. This is a one-of-a-kind prototype that I’ll be selling directly with or without the cab (will ship). Shout out to Rye @thepicaspeaks for the awesome cabs! HMU if interested 👊⚡️ Happy Friday.

In my Sunn Beta Mini post, I included the aside that 4558 op amps power the Tubescreamer (true), TEAC 144 (also true), and King of Tone (false). I'm a big fan of the KoT sound, whether it's an original AnalogMan, the svelte @corioliseffectspedals Hail to the King, the accessible @guptech King of Crow (bird on it), or the powerful @chasebliss Brothers AM. I don't know how I had misremembered the op amp!
