Scientists have created a supersolid, a strange state of matter that is both solid and fluid at once. They cooled atoms to near absolute zero, forming a Bose-Einstein Condensate (BEC). By placing the atoms in an optical cavity with lasers, they made light bounce between mirrors and interact with the atoms.
