I teach violence prevention and survivor support in schools for a living. Some days are hard and emotional...but when aspirations emerge from the audience as a takeaway, it all becomes worth it. • • #believesurvivors #saawareness
@Callisto has leveraged cutting-edge encryption technology to empower survivors of #sexualassault. And, while our platform is unique, we are not alone in understanding that technology is a powerful tool when it comes to advocacy and survivor support. We could not be more excited to be teaming up with @endrapeoncampus @ourwavestories and @metoomvmt for an important conversation about the role of technology in transforming how we tackle the issue of #sexualviolence and improving support options for survivors. Hope you'll join us this Wed 4/17 at 2pm ET for this important conversation! Register at the link in our bio.
All survivors are impacted by trauma differently. Trauma is not linear & you have not failed at healing because you’ve been triggered. Know you are not alone & we can help in those moments that do not feel good. Call our 24/7 hotline at 301-662-8800 for survivor support. #HeartlyIsHere #MentalHealth #SelfCare #SupportSurvivors #StopTheViolence #EndViolence #EndAbuse #ForYou #Reels
Baby, it’s cold outside! And the son of one of our survivors needs some things with the changing weather. We are accepting new or gently used winter coats, sweaters, long-sleeve shirts, and pants (all size 10/12). You may also donate directly to Lighthouse for Life and earmark your gift for Survivor Support (clothes donation) here: https://lighthouseforlife.org/donate/ Contact Whitney McWhorter, Survivor Support Assistant Director at 803.900.1141 if you have any questions and to arrange any donation drop offs.
Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Awareness Months are observed globally to shed light on the pervasive issue of violence rooted in gender inequality. These months aim to educate communities, advocate for survivor support, and promote policies to address GBV. They serve as a platform for amplifying survivor voices, raising awareness about the various forms of GBV—including domestic violence, sexual assault, and harmful practices like female genital mutilation—and mobilizing collective action. Key global observances include the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence (November 25 to December 10) and Domestic Violence Awareness Month (October), among others. Activities such as workshops, advocacy campaigns, and public events focus on prevention, resource distribution, and community engagement. @_wisdom_robert @tai

For Week 2️⃣ of #GunViolenceAwarenessMonth, we’re shining a light on our incredible Family and Survivor Support (FSS) program! 🧡 . On Tuesday, our FSS team hosted a ‘Letter Writing and Balloon Release’ event for the families and survivors impacted by violence in DC.🙏 . The FSS program provides a direct link between survivors, immediate family members, and essential government and community-based services. From behavioral health support and burial assistance to vital records and workforce development, FSS ensures that those affected by homicides, juvenile shootings/stabbings, or crew-related violence receive the holistic support they need to navigate their journey. . Our ONSE FSS Support Group meets every second Tuesday of the month from 7-9 PM. . If you or someone you know could benefit, learn more on our website! #LinkinBio #EndGunViolence #SupportSurvivors #WeAreONSE
