This release introduces Import / Export between location files, the ability to export entire projects, and improvements across Live Plot, macros, favorites, and Stream Deck Plus integration. New in Blackout 2.6: - Import specific elements from one location file into another using the new Import / Export workflow - Export entire projects directly from Blackout - Record macros directly from the Record menu - New Live Plot badges showing fixture status like inhibitors and freeze - Astera data fields in Live Plot including battery runtime and signal strength - Stream Deck Plus encoder improvements with expanded mapping options - Cleaner macro indicators and improved favorites display These updates streamline workflows for lighting programmers, gaffers, and technicians using Blackout for DMX lighting control across film sets, television productions, and live environments. Watch the full Blackout 2.6 update video on YouTube for a deeper walkthrough, and read the release notes for the complete breakdown of everything included in this update. #blackoutapp #lightingconsole #lightingprogrammer
You line up a row of Astera tubes and trigger a pixel effect… but two of them start running the opposite direction. Normally that means stopping everything and climbing a ladder to reposition the fixtures. With Blackout, you can diagnose and fix it directly from the app. First, open the DMX Tester in Blackout and run the effect to check the pixel direction. In this case, you can immediately see that fixtures 202 and 203 are running backwards. Next, jump into Blackout’s native Astera integration and open the Astera View State. Select the fixtures that are misbehaving—202 and 203—rotate them 180 degrees, and send the data. Then go back to the DMX Tester, play through the effect again, and you’ll see the change instantly. The pixel direction is now perfectly aligned across the row. No climbing ladders. No repositioning tubes. Just a fast fix directly from Blackout. 24 seconds. That’s how long it took to connect Blackout and start controlling lights. Can your lighting console beat that? While other consoles require complex startup sequences, network configuration, and menu navigation, Blackout gets you up and running instantly. Want to see how fast Blackout works for yourself? Programming advanced effects is great, but with image-based lighting you can instantly turn your fixtures into video elements to match playback or real-life dynamic lighting. Here are three Blackout workflows that make it possible. 1. Reverse Fixture Direction Without Physical Adjustments. Using Astera’s native integration with Blackout, you can rotate tube direction 180 degrees from the app. This solves the common issue of backwards pixel flow without climbing ladders or rewiring your setup, especially useful when working with multiple tubes that need consistent directionality. 2. Streamline Pairing and Patching for Multiple Fixtures. The combination of Astera’s white remote and Blackout’s pairing workflow lets you blue mode, pair, and patch entire fixture groups in under a minute. Instead of addressing each light individually through menus, send patch data sequentially through the app, turning a 10+ minute process into a quick one-click operation. 3. Map Video Content Across LED Fixtures Using MadMapper. By connecting MadMapper to Blackout over WiFi, you can output pixel-mapped video content to wireless fixtures with minimal latency. This setup handles six universes of data wirelessly, letting you control complex video playback across your lighting rig from an iPad. Perfect for immersive environments, driving scenes, or any production requiring synchronized video content on LED fixtures. These workflow improvements address common on-set challenges: fixture setup time, patching efficiency, and integrating video content into your lighting design. Blackout was built with one goal in mind, to make professional DMX lighting control accessible, with all the complex capabilities of traditional consoles that can cost upwards of $90,000. Not too long ago, running DMX lighting on set meant a large console, connected to a node, connected to another box, all just to make a single light respond. A lot of gear. A lot of cables. A lot of stuff nobody wanted to manage on set. So we started cutting the cord. We replaced the big console with an iPad. We replaced nodes with transmitters. We replaced cables with receivers. And we made the whole thing affordable and accessible, without sacrificing professional control. Now that most lights are LED and getting smarter, your setup doesn’t have to look like a rack of equipment anymore. It looks like this: iPad → transmitter → lights. Your iPad sends lighting information to a CRMX transmitter, which broadcasts it wirelessly to your fixtures. Clean, simple, and built for the modern set. Whether you’re in film and television, live events, or house of worship, Blackout works for any environment and scales with your workflow. Start simple with basic fixture control or dive into advanced programming and workflow automation. You can patch 8 Astera tubes in one minute if you know this workflow. Use the Astera White ARC3 remote to blue mode all fixtures at once. In Blackout, hit the pair to light button and watch them all connect. Then send patch data down the line, one after another. What normally takes 10+ minutes is done in 60 seconds. This workflow is particularly useful when you’re working with fixtures you’ve never touched before or when you need to get a rig up fast. No menu diving on each fixture. No manual addressing. Just systematic patching from your iPad. Learn more about Blackout’s Astera integration at blackout-app.com #blackoutapp #lightingconsole #lightingprogrammer
Some Blackout users only use fixture controls. They adjust intensity and color, never record cues, and never build sequences. They treat Blackout like a powerful remote control. Others are building multiple sequences, layering playbacks, creating complex cue stacks, and timecoding entire shows. Same app, different depth. You don’t need to understand every feature to get started. You don’t need sequences if you don’t want them. You don’t need advanced networking knowledge to run a small show. Use what you need, when you need it. We have a massive free YouTube library and help center. Full of beginner walkthroughs, advanced workflow breakdowns, and active community support. Blackout is simple to learn but powerful enough for any production. Learn more at blackout-app.com #blackoutapp #lightingconsole #lightingprogrammer

The 8-channel DMX signal amplifier is a DMX512 signal distribution amplifier designed specifically for star shaped connection of DMX receiving devices (dimmers, color changers, moving head lights, etc.). This device can break through the limitation of a single RS485 interface that can only connect 32 devices, and the multi output optically isolated DMX512 signal amplifier has become an essential device in many DMX512 control systems. The equipment provides full electrical grounding isolation for each branch line of the star shaped connection, greatly reducing the problem of ground loop interference; Simultaneously amplifying and restructuring the DMX signal to ensure more stable and reliable data transmission #china #Lightingcontroller #Eaglelight #supplier #sourcefactory #DMX512 #splitter #Amplifier #LightShow #LightingSetup #EventLighting #StageTech #ProLighting #LightingTips #StageGear #lightinglife #PowerCon
One of the best DMX lighting control apps IMO *$80/YEAR* definitely not month 😵‍💫 #lightkey #dmxlighting #propresenter
