🌱 A brilliant day at Ashburton Park! Today teams from InfraRed, TCV, Oasis and Croydon Council came together to build 6 new raised beds for our community food growing project. It was one of those days where partnership really comes alive — people from different organisations rolling up their sleeves, working side-by-side, and creating something that will benefit the whole community. These beds will soon be filled with vegetables, herbs and fruit that local families and young people can help grow and enjoy together. This project is made possible thanks to funding from The National Lottery Heritage Fund as part of our work celebrating 100 years of Ashburton Park and investing in its future. Community Gardening 🤝 Tackling Fly-tippping Your Crofton Park @lewishamgreens team were out in the community this weekend, beautifying a neglected bit of green space in need of TLC. After local residents contacted the Council, the space was cleared of overgrown shrubs and weeds before we laid some seeds and plants in time for Spring and Summer 🌞 Myself and fellow Crofton Park candidates Aaron Regisford and Natalie Thomas are hoping to work with local residents to make this into a little community garden that will bring biodiversity and discourage fly-tippping. I’m really delighted to show you around The Riverdale Community Garden which will be open soon 💚 Choice Housing have done an amazing job in collaboration with the local community. I’m really looking forward to spending time with my neighbours sowing 🌱and growing 🥕together 👩🏼‍🌾🫜🪏It will be a wonderful place for people of all ages and abilities to spend time gardening 🍎 or simply enjoying nature 🐝 right in the heart ❤️ of Belfast. In April myself & other volunteers will be hosting a free demonstration & Q&A session in the garden helping people learn how to grow their own vegetables, fruit, flowers, and herbs. 🌱 Bethania Street Community Garden The Bethania Street Community Garden is thriving thanks to the incredible volunteers who give their time to nurture it. From planting and tending the beds, being home to community composting, they share knowledge with others and their efforts are helping this wonderful space grow for the whole community. 🌸🌼 Community Together 🌼🌸 We’re truly blessed to have such amazing support, commitment and encouragement from our community and local businesses. 💚 Many of you will have seen just how much progress has been made in just two weeks at Salt Marsh Community Garden — it’s been incredible! 🌱 A huge thank you for the generous donations that are helping us bring the space to life: 🪵 Scaffolding boards from @canterburycityscaffolding 📦 Pallets from @poundcity These materials are already being used to build raised beds and a compost area for the garden. So much hard work has gone into the project in such a short time. We’ve recently had the pleasure of supporting @greenhubprojectforteens at Farncombe Community Garden 🌿 This project involved creating new raised beds and helping shape a space that will be used and enjoyed by the local community. The sleepers for the project were supplied by Jewson in Godalming, helping bring everything together.
