#TSRTeenUpdates: The family of #KennekaJenkins, the 19-year-old whose body was found in a walk-in hotel freezer on September 10, 2017, has received a $6 million settlement after suing the hotel for negligence. The settlement was reached in August but the terms have just now been revealed. ______________________________ Her family initially filed a $50 million lawsuit accusing the hotel of negligence. They believed Kenneka would have been found alive if the hotel searched properly during the first 24 hours she was missing. According to @NPR, Kenneka’s mom will receive a large portion of the settlement and two other relatives will receive a little over $1 million each. ______________________________ Kenneka’s passing was ruled accidental and the cause was determined as hypothermia.
