I recently had the pleasure of styling a photoshoot for the beautiful fine bone china collections at Highgrove Gardens. I was so inspired by the rich plum tones, beautiful florals and botanical details of the Highgrove Gardens Collection that I wanted to experiment with a few designs of my own for the table linen — these were created purely for the photoshoot, to complement the china and bring another layer of colour and pattern to the table. Nothing you see me printing here is for sale — it was simply part of my creative process for styling the shoot. I started, as I always do, with pencil and paper — drawing motifs, mixing colours by hand and experimenting with pattern and print. The Highgrove Gardens Collection is inspired by The Highgrove Florilegium, an extraordinary record of the plants and flowers growing within the Royal Gardens at Highgrove. The fine bone china is handmade in Staffordshire by skilled craftspeople, continuing a wonderful tradition of English pottery and craftsmanship. The collection includes teapots, cups and saucers, plates, mugs and other beautiful pieces and is available to buy directly from Highgrove Shop & Gardens, online and at Highgrove. Proceeds from the sale of Highgrove products support the work of The King’s Foundation.
