Caregiver Fatigue is Real!!!! I don’t care if it’s for a child with special needs or taking care of an elderly parent. Having to care for another persons needs 100% of the time is exhausting and A LOT of work. You sometimes are simply mentally drained of knowing it’s no quitting time to the end of your day. I’ve learned to practice better self-care but it’s not enough to prevent from just feeling tired.
This is the hardest job of my life but I celebrate with Taylor’s hard work and efforts and make these small steps, HUGE for US. Seeing her be able to understand and do more is my fuel. Knowing that my day in and day out job pays off; brings me energy to keep going. Not for myself, but for her. We’re in this together and Taylor is Strong, Determined, and a Fighter! I’m going to continue to do my part in the journey even the parts that no one sees, gets, or understands.
Here she’s learned to turn in the light. Something small to someone else but it’s major for us. She’s also understanding to get her shoes, book bag, open and close the door, and here comes the bus. 😎🙌🏽
